Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings Oct 23

Oct 23, 2019

At beginning of meeting:  Psalm 146:5-10 – “Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them – the Lord, who remains faithful forever.  He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.  The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.  The Lord watches over the alien and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.  The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations.”

Scripture Reading Habakkuk 3:2-4, 18-19:  My joy is your strength.  “O Lord, I have heard your renown.  In the course of the years revive it, in the course of the years make it known.  Covered are the heavens with his glory, and with his praise the earth is filled.  His splendor spreads like the light; rays shine forth from beside him, where his power is concealed. Yet will I rejoice in the Lord and exult in my saving God.  God, my Lord, is my strength.”

Prophecy:  “My Holy Spirit will come to you as a whisper, as a whisper into the depths of your soul.  So, silence all other voices within you.  Find a space of quiet and silence and openness and let my Holy Spirit speak, whisper its words of wisdom and grace into your soul.  Do not let the noisiness, the busyness of life clutter your thought, clutter your mind, clutter your heart, clutter your soul or you may miss it.”

Vision:  “As we were praise and worshipping, I saw fields of flowers and as we continued to praise and worship, the fields and the flowers grew and there was the sun.  Then as we continued to praise and worship, the rays poured out on this field.  It wasn’t just sun rays but it was the Lord.  It was his Spirit and it was falling down on this field of beautiful flowers.  And then the Lord said, “Live in my pasture.  This is where you will see me.””

Scripture Reading Phil 3:7-11  “Because of Christ, I have considered all these advantages that I had as disadvantages.  Not only that, but I believe nothing can happen that will outweigh the supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.  For him I have accepted the loss of everything, and I look on everything as so much rubbish if only I can have Christ and be given a place in him.  I am no longer trying for perfection by my own efforts, the perfection that comes from the Law, but I want only the perfection that comes through faith in Christ, and is from God and based on faith.  All I want is to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share his sufferings by reproducing the pattern of his death.  That is the way I can hope to take my place in the resurrection of the dead.”

Scripture Reading Psalm 23:  “The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.  He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet, cool and fresh water.  He gives me new strength.  He guides me in the right paths as he has promised.  Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid for you are with me.  Your shepherd’s rod and staff protect me.  You prepare a banquet for me where all my enemies can see me.  You welcome me as an honored guest and fill my plate to the brim.  I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life and your house will be my house as long as I live.”

Shared after the teaching:

Scripture Reading Psalm 121:  “I lift up me eyes to the mountain; where is my help to come from?  My help comes from Yahweh who made heaven and earth.  Yahweh is your guardian, your shade; Yahweh at your right hand.  By day the sun will not strike you, nor the moon by night.  Yahweh guards you from all harm; Yahweh guards your life.  Yahweh guards your comings and your goings, henceforth and forever.”

Prophecy:  I think I had a prophecy and I don’t usually, so I was afraid and I couldn’t share it but I think I have to.   It was a cry from the heart of God and he exhorted, “I love you with an everlasting love.  I love you with more love than you can imagine or understand and I choose you.”  And he pleads, “Please choose me.”

Sharing:  When I became a Catholic 10 years ago through the RCIA, I kept hearing a faint cry from our Lord, “Choose me, me, choose me.”
