Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings August 28

Leader of meeting felt that 1 Thess 2:13 from today’s reading at Mass, was a message from the Lord for the participants this evening.  “We constantly give thanks to God that when you received the word of God, you accepted it not as a human word but as what it really is, God’s word, which is also at work in you believers.”

Prophecy:  “You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in his shadow for life, say to the Lord, “My refuge, my God in whom I trust.”  I’m asking you today, my children, to use me as your stronghold, your fortress, your strength, to trust me who are both strong and gentle, wise and tender.  Trust in my mercy, trust in my justice, trust in my providence, trust in all my help in whatever way I send it to you.”

Vision/Prophecy:  “I had a vision of the ceiling just opened up and there was beautiful blue sky and billowy clouds and then all of a sudden this beautiful light.  Then the Lord Jesus peeked over and he’s smiling at all of us as we’re praising and singing.  And he starts kind of dropping flecks of gold from the sky and it landed on all of our heads.  I said, “Lord, what does this vision mean?”  And he said, “Tell my people that I’m blessing them with my favor tonight.  Ask and it shall be given to them.””

Prophecy:  “There’s many people in this room and outside this room who keep saying things like “I can’t, I can’t do this, I can’t do that, I am depressed, I am sick, I am lonely, I am hungry, I am poor, I am despondent, I can’t.  And the Lord says to me, “As long as they say, “I can’t”, they won’t.”  And then Lord said, “My people, I have given you the weapon that you need against these words.  I have given each of you the weapon.  The weapon is my word.  Go to my word, that is my weapon against the words that are coming at you in your mind.  Those are not from me, my children.  The evil one, the enemy wants you to believe those lies.  Once you believe those lies, as long as you speak those lies, they will become true.  So, my people, start speaking the truth.  Open the word.  Speak my word.”

Scripture Reading Ephesians 2:19-20 – “So then, you Gentiles, are not foreigners or strangers any longer.  You are citizens together with God’s people and members of the family of God.  You, too, are built upon the foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, the cornerstone being Christ Jesus himself.”

Prophecy:  “My children, I want you to know that many are addicted to the things of the earth.  I don’t want you addicted to those things, to the glory of the world.  As you know, many people are accepting it.  Rather, I want you to receive my glory and not be addicted to those things, only addicted to my word in the Scripture and to worship me in my Spirit and my power.  That is the true addiction that I want for you.  That is what I desire that you should do.  Turn to me as you know many people of this world turn to the things of the world and get addicted to.  I want you to be addicted to me because I want to dwell with you, in you and guide you, strengthen you and lead you forward.  So, trust me.”

Teaching

Video teaching by Fr. Benedict Groeschel – “Death and Purgatory”.  St. Catherine of Genoa said that the happiness of souls in purgatory is exceeded only by the souls in heaven.  We are third. Souls burn with love of God.  Purgatory gets you ready for heaven.  It’s like getting ready for a sport’s activity.  Souls in purgatory can pray for us.  In Fr. Groeschel’s brush with death, there were no vital signs for 27 minutes.  It’s a miracle that he was able to walk, think, speak, etc.  

Scripture Reading shared after the teaching:  1 Peter 4:14 & 17 – “For the spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” “It is time for judgement to begin with the family of God.”
