Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream September 9, 2026

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

Scripture Reading Psalm 62:6-9 - My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope.  God alone is my rock and my salvation, my secure height; I shall not fall.  My safety and glory are with God, my strong rock and refuge.  Trust God at all times, my people!  Pour out your hearts to God our refuge!

Prophecy - My little ones, I have called you together tonight for a very special reason.  I am with you in more ways than one.  I have come to bless each one of you, individually and as a group.  I am here to give you more of myself until you are so full that you are overflowing.  I need you to be a light in this world.  I need you to bring my love to those people who are so alone, so needy.  Don't worry, I will put them on your path.  I only ask that you give all that I have for them.  I'm increasing all your gifts; healing, deliverance, joy peace, gladness.  Every spiritual gift that you can receive, my little ones, I'm pouring them out on you.  You are my hands, my feet and my mouthpiece.  Remember that.  Remember every time you open your mouth to say something, let it be my word that you speak.  Hear me in the cry of my people.  I will continue to bless you and fill you with my Spirit.  You are mine now and forever and I thank you for answering my call.  I thank you for following in my footsteps.  I continue to bless you and love you.

Scripture Reading Psalm 134:1-3 - Behold, bless the Lord, all servants of the Lord, who serve by night in the house of the Lord!  Lift up your hands to the sanctuary and bless the Lord.  May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth.

Scripture Reading Ezekiel 17:22-24 - This is what the Sovereign Lord says:  "I will take the top of a tall cedar and break off a tender sprout; I will plant it on a high mountain, on Israel's highest mountain.  It will grow branches and bear seed and become a magnificent cedar.  Birds of every kind will live there and find shelter in its shade.  All the trees in the land will know that I am the Lord.  I cut down the tall trees and make small trees grow tall.  I wither up the green trees and make the dry trees become green.  I, the Lord, have spoken.  I will do what I have said I would do.

Prophecy - Yes, I am with you each moment of the day, right beside you.  Just call on me, speak with me.  I'm always there right beside you.  I've been watching over you.  So come and know that I'm always there right beside you.

Our battle against the flesh is not hopeless, for we are no longer under the authority of sin.  In Romans 6, Paul explains why.  If we have died with Jesus, we have been set free from sin.  While sin is no longer our master, the pull to sin is real and powerful.

Confirmation - I just want to confirm the word about the Holy Spirit that he is pouring out anew in greater Spirit on us tonight and he's going to enhance the gifts that he has already given us.

These are the words from one of the songs we heard, that just really struck me:  Whether our life is short or whether our life is long, we belong to the Lord.

Teaching

Fr. Michael Sparough, SJ spoke on Luke 5:1-11, The Miraculous Catch of Fish.

Fishermen know that the best time to catch fish is at night because it's cool and the fish come up to the surface.  When it's warm during the day, the fish go into the deep water and it's harder to catch them.  Simon Peter knew this.  He had been fishing all night and caught nothing.  And yet when Jesus tells him to put down his nets again, Peter listens to Jesus. 

Peter catches more fish than he has ever caught in his entire life.  He knows this is the hand of God.  His reaction is astonishment.  He feels at that moment the acute awareness of his own sinfulness.  He says to Jesus, "Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man."

Have you had an experience of an acute awareness that you're in the presence of The Holy?  God comes to us in so many different ways.  So often in the midst that, when our hearts are opened up and we feel ourselves bathed in grace, we become acutely aware of our own brokenness and our own inadequacy.  Sometimes like Simon Peter, we fall into the trap of saying, "You don't want to have anything to do with the likes of me.  I'm not worthy."

We're not worthy.  That's the GOOD NEWS:  We're not worthy and God loves us anyway!  Faith is a gift.  It's not something that we earn. 

We all fall short.  Christ came into this world for sinners.  And he has a job for you.  When we know our inadequacies, our brokenness, that's when God can use us.  We know it's not us, it's God's divine grace moving through us.  Every one of us has a unique voice.  It's the unique expression of the Holy Spirit abiding within us that Jesus wants us to share with the world.    

Jesus is a master at catching people's hearts.  Notice how he caught Peter's heart.  He approached Peter at a time of Peter's inadequacy and he astonished him.  And then he didn't berate him.  He didn't humiliate him.  He didn't badger him.  He invited him. 

How do I share that which is most precious to me with those that I love?  Look at what Jesus did.  He invites Peter.  And patience.  God is so patient with us.

Three-point plan for inviting others to the faith:

1.  Pray for them.  Don't give up on the power of prayer and fasting.

2.  Look for windows of opportunity.  It might even take many invitations to a retreat or whatever.

3.  Witness of our life - joy, serenity.
