Scripture Reading at beginning of meeting, Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I made you in your mother's womb, I chose you.  Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work."

Scripture Reading Psalm 136:1-6, Litany of Thanksgiving - "Give thanks to the Lord for he is good; his love is everlasting!  Give thanks to the God of gods, his love is everlasting!  Give thanks to the Lord of lords, his love is everlasting!  He alone performs great marvels, his love is everlasting!  His wisdom made the heavens, his love is everlasting!  He set the earth on the waters, his love is everlasting!

Scripture Reading John 15:1-7 - "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower.  He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit.  Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes to make it bear more fruit.  You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you.  Abide in me, as I abide in you.  Just as a branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.  I am the vine, you are the branches.  Those who abide in me, and I in them bear much fruit because apart from me you can do nothing.  Whoever does not abide in me is thrown away like a branch and withered; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned.  If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish and it will be done for you."

Scripture Reading Wisdom 7:23-30, Nature and Incomparable Dignity of Wisdom - "For in her is a spirit intelligent, holy, unique, manifold, subtle, agile, clear, unstained, certain, not baneful, loving the good, keen, unhampered, beneficent, kindly, firm, secure, tranquil, all-powerful, all-seeing, and pervading all spirits, though they be intelligent, pure and very subtle.  For Wisdom is mobile beyond all motion, and she penetrates and pervades all things by reason of her purity.  For she is an aura of the might of God and a pure effusion of the glory of the Almighty; therefore nought that is sullied enters into her.  For she is the refulgence of eternal light, the spotless mirror of the power of God, the image of his goodness.  And she, who is one, can do all things, and renews everything while herself perduring; and passing into holy souls from age to age, she produces friends of God and prophets.  For there is nought God loves, be it not one who dwells with Wisdom.  For she is fairer than the sun and surpasses every constellation of the stars.  Compared to light she takes precedence; for that, indeed, night supplants, but wickedness prevails not over Wisdom."

Prophecy - "Worship the Lord.  Worship the Lord day and night.  Worship the Lord with all your heart."

Scripture Reading Ephesians 1:3-6 - "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him.  In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of his grace that he granted us in the beloved."

Prophecy - "My children, tonight I desire to reveal myself to you in a deeper way, in a more intimate way, and the most intimate way that I can reveal myself to you is through the cross, the cross that you and everyone in this world carries day to day.  When you say yes to carrying my cross, you are saying yes to welcome me, welcome me into your life.  My children, it is through the cross that I can purify you; it is through the cross that I can redeem you, to make you whole and holy.  There are many who run away from the cross and because of this, they are stuck, stuck in their woundedness and their brokenness and their sinfulness.  They cry out to me but they refuse to let go of what hinders them from receiving the gift of salvation that I offer.  You, my children, have come to me tonight and it gives me great joy and pleasure that you praise and worship my name.  It gives me great joy and pleasure that you have said yes to receiving my love and my mercy into your lives.  Tonight, I am asking you to surrender all that prevents you from letting go of those things in your life that keep you stuck.  My body of love can pierce through that darkness; and I'm going to give you a gift of faith tonight, the gift of faith and hope that that light will pierce through and penetrate through all woundedness and brokenness that you surrender unto me.  Believe in my word, trust in my love.  I wish to redeem you and reveal my immense love and allow my glory to reign and shine within your life, for it is through you, my children, that my love can be shown to other people, and that can only be shown when you allow me to purify you."

Confirmation of the word to praise the Lord/Prophecy - "Praise me.  Praise me, my children, praise me in the morning; praise me in the noontime; praise me in the evening time.  Praise me when you go to bed.  My children, continue praising me through the sadness, through the worries, through everything praise me."

Confirmation of that same word/Scripture Reading Sirach 50:22-24 - "Now then, give praise to the God of the universe, who has done great things everywhere, who brings us up from the time we were born, and deals with us mercifully.  May he give us happiness and allow us to have peace in Israel forever.  May he continue his mercy to us and rescue us in our time of need."

Teaching

A video of Fr. Blount speaking on "Deceptions To Be Aware Of".  Psalm 149.  Let no cursing be on our lips.  Dirty words bring a curse.  Whenever you say a dirty word, a demon comes.  Whenever you say a holy word, like Praise God, an angel comes.  When you curse, a demonic stronghold begins to grow up inside of you and it leads to drug usage; it will lead to depression; it can lead to terrible things.  It might lead you all the way to first degree murder.  Fr. Blount works with murderers.  One of them told him that it all began with cursing and looking at pornography.  He became a serial killer.  If you're having trouble with dirty words, bless your lips with the sign of the cross and it should go away, usually within a week or two.  The bible says to let the praise of God be on your lips and a two-edged sword in your hands.  Story of a child seeing a demon monster in the house every night for several months.  Brother had posters of a Satanic rock group in his bedroom, played a Satanic computer game.  When the brother got rid of these things, the demon stopped appearing.  When we put up pictures of holy things like St. Michael the Archangel, the Virgin Mary, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, who will be in our bedroom?  Be aware of the power of electronics in our lives, the power of music, of cursing, of games, of television.  We can bring into our house things that are angelic and godly.  We can also do the opposite.

Reflection on last week's teaching

Fr. Michael - How easy it is for us to say, "Lord, I surrender everything into your hands," but how hard it is to really "let go" in complete trust without telling God how to do the job and trying to fix the problem ourselves.  We've heard it said, that God helps those who help themselves.  We've also heard, "Let go and let God."  Can both be true?  By mooching from her friends, the college girl Pat spoke about last week, demonstrated a lack of faith, at the very least, a lack of understanding, when she didn't leave it up to the Lord to provide for her as in St. Francis and St. Mother Teresa.  I was once told by a priest friend that the greatest gift God gave to mankind was the gift of common sense.  I sometimes wonder how much our common sense gets in the way of our growing in faith.  In the parable of the Good Samaritan, was it fear or common sense or lack of faith that led the priest and the Levite to pass by the injured person?  But notice that the Samaritan gave the innkeeper a blank cheque to look after the man who was injured.  Was he using common sense?  Which of the characters in this parable do I most resemble?  There's another word we often use when we consider how much we're prepared to surrender to God and that word is "afford".  What can I afford?  What am I prepared to give up without affecting my lifestyle?  These questions do not apply only to money, but to our time and energy as well.  How much is my time is devoted to serving God?  In the hymn we sing, "I surrender all."  That is our target.  Am I closer to that target now than I was a year ago?  How much faith do I have in the expression that God will not be outdone in generosity?  Perhaps the question you may need to ask yourselves is how firm is my trust in the words of our Lord when he says, "You may ask anything in my name and I will do it."
