Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream June 19, 2024

Jun 20, 2024

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

At beginning of meeting Scripture Reading Psalm 95:1-3 - "Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; cry out to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before him with a song of praise, joyfully sing out our psalms.  For the Lord is the great God, the great king over all gods."

Scripture Reading Mark 1:15 - "This is the time of fulfillment, the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel."

Scripture Reading Psalm 37:4 - "Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desire."

Scripture Reading Matthew 12:28-30 - "Come to me all you who are weary and heavy-burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Scripture Reading Psalm 55 - "Give ear to my prayer, O God; and do not hide yourself from my supplication.  Give heed to me and answer me; I am restless in my complaint and am surely distracted.  Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the pressure of the wicked; for they bring down trouble upon me and in anger they bear a grudge against me.  My heart is in anguish within me, and the terror of death have fallen upon me.  Fear and trembling come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me.  I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove!  I would fly away and be at rest."

Prayer - "Jesus, please give us opportunities to share your love with others."

Prophecy - "Just keep worshipping me.  Worship, that is the word I want to place in your heart.  Just worship."

Scripture Reading psalm 62:8 - "Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us."

I was thinking when Monika and Frank and Lucie met each other in Costco; I was thinking the people of God meeting together; it's like one family excited to see each other.  Something just struck me about that sharing.  I think that's what God does when he brings us into his family.  We're happy to see each other; and his love between us.

Teaching

Dr. Mary Healy spoke at a conference, entitled "Contagious Christian", in Ireland.  Her talk was on faith and she shared stories of ordinary people who had faith and whom the Lord used in healing.  Some had tenacious faith like the Canaanite woman.  These people were led by the Holy Spirit.  It was not about a formula.

Faith is always surrender, radical obedience.  i.e.  Blessed Mother telling the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."  Faith is spelled RISK, OBEDIENCE.

Why did Jesus come to John the Baptist for the baptism of repentance?   Cardinal Cantalamessa:  Jesus came to receive John's baptism as a way of entering into total solidarity with sinners.  He totally identified with us.  The heavens were opened above him and the Holy Spirit descended upon him like in the form of a dove.  The Gospel does not say that the heavens closed up again.  The implication is that the heavens remained open above him.  Jesus, from that day, walked under an open heaven because his whole mission as man was to have access to heaven.  What does heaven have?  Blessings, healing, forgiveness, mercy, transformation grace, power.  His mission was to have access to all of that so that he could distribute them on earth.  He walked under an open heaven as a model for us.

He is God, yet he chose to live as man dependent on the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit led him into the desert to show that he had power to resist temptations of the evil one in the power of the Holy Spirit.  We will be tempted but we can resist in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Gospel is not good news without power.

Answer to Prayer

Barb shared a praise report.  We had prayed for Leona's Mom quite awhile ago.  It's like a miracle.  She doesn't need oxygen anymore to breathe which is the first time in a really long time.  And the doctor was about to say, "We can't do anything for you."  But he decided to try this one medication.  It's really like a miracle; she is breathing so well.  There was a time when they thought they were going to lose her.  Thank you, Lord!
