Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream June 15, 2022

Jun 16, 2022

Unfortunately the recorder failed, so the prophecies will not be as given - they will be from the notes jotted down during the meeting.

At beginning of meeting, Scripture Reading Psalm 77:11-12 - "I will remember your great deeds, Lord; I will recall the wonders you did in the past.  I will think about all that you have done; I will meditate on all your mighty acts."

Scripture Reading 2 Cor 1:3-7, Thanksgiving - "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and God of all encouragement, who encourages us in our every affliction, so that we may be able to encourage those who are in any affliction with the encouragement with which we ourselves are encouraged by God.  For as Christ's sufferings overflow to us, so through Christ does our encouragement also overflow.  If we are afflicted, it is for your encouragement and salvation; if we are encouraged, it is for your encouragement, which enables you to endure the same sufferings that we suffer.  Our hope for you is firm, for we know that as you share in the sufferings, you also share in the encouragement.

Scripture Reading Psalm 130:5-8 - I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and I wait for his word.  My soul waits in hope for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; yes, more than the watchmen for the morning.  Israel, wait for the Lord; for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is abundant redemption.  And he will redeem Israel from all his guilty deeds."

Summary of a prophetic word - The Lord loves our praises.  We were asked to pray for others, especially for those who have fallen away, for those who need salvation and for those who have challenges.

Another prophetic word was to keep a space in our mind open for the Lord.

Summary of a prophetic word - The Lord longs for us to be with him, to know him in a deeper way.  The only way is to be still, to take time.  Through the busyness, to breathe the breath of life that the Lord has given us.  He is counting on our hands, feet, etc., to go out to his people, that they know that he exists.  The Lord was asking us to turn to him.  He can empower us.

One person had a sense that there would be healings tonight.

Scripture Reading Psalm 23:1-4 - "The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.  He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water.  He give me new strength.  He guides me in the right paths, as he has promised.  Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid, Lord, for you are with me.  Your shepherd's rod and staff protect me."

Teaching

Rick Warren spoke on strategies for stress management.  Hebrews 12:1-3, NLT - "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.  And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.  We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.  Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame.  Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God's throne.  Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people, then you won't become weary and give up."

Jesus' seven secrets of resilience:

1) Remember how much God loves me.  John 10:17, NLT - "The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again."  John 15:9-10, NIV - "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.  Now remain in my love.  If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commands and remain in his love."  1 John 3:1, NIV - "The Father has loved us so much that we are called children of God."

2) Remember who I am.  If we are not sure of our identity then we are molded by pressure, people around us, etc.  I am a child of God.  I am unique.  No need to compare or copy someone else.  Accept our struggles and weaknesses.  The I AM statements of Jesus - Mark 14:62, John 6:36, John 8:12, John 14:6.  John 8:18, NIV - "I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me."  Matthew 5:13-16, NIV - "You are the salt of the earth."

3) Know who I'm trying to please.  Principle of motivation.  Fear of man is a trap.  John 5:30, TEV - "I always do those things that are pleasing to him."  John 8:29, NLT - "And the one who sent me is with me - he has not deserted me.  For I always do what pleases him."  Luke 16:13, NIV - "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other."  Galatians 1:10, NLT - "Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God.  If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant."

4) Know my calling.  Principle of vocation.  John 8:14, NIV - "Jesus answered, 'Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I cam from and where I am going."  We will be guided either by pressure or purpose.  James 1:8, GW - "A person who has doubts is thinking about two different things at the same time and can't make up his mind about anything."  Ephesians 4:1, NIV - "As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received."

5) Focus on what matters most.  Principle of concentration.  Satan will wear us out with too many good things.  Jesus was focused.  Luke 9:51, LB - "When the days were coming to a close for him to be taken up, he determined to journey to Jerusalem."  Luke 9:62, LB - "But Jesus told him, 'Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God."  1 Cor 10:23, AMP - "All things are lawful, (that is, morally legitimate, permissible), but not all things are beneficial or advantageous.  All things are lawful, but not all things are constructive (to character) and edifying (to spiritual life)."

6) Spend time alone with God.  Principle of meditation.  Luke 22:39, NIV - "Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him."  Jesus' habit - practice and repetition.  Mark 1:35, NIV - "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed."  Luke 5:16, NCV - "But Jesus often slipped away to be alone so he could pray."  Often - frequently.  Psalm 46:10 - "Be still and know that I am God."  Colossians 2:7, CEV - "Plant your roots in Christ and let him be the foundation for your life.  Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught.  And be grateful."

7) Get a small group for support.  We were never intended to handle stress by ourselves.  Mark 3:14, NIV - "He appointed twelve that they might be with him."  Insecurity or pride may keep us from asking for help.

Rick Warren said that he would add another secret of resilience and that is that we need a Saviour.  We need his presence, his power, his peace, his salvation.  Matthew 11:28-29, NLT - "Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'"  Don't give up.  Look up.
