Scripture Reading at beginning of meeting, Psalm 150 - "Praise the Lord!  Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty firmament!  Praise him for his might deeds; praise him according to his surpassing greatness!  Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!  Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe!  Praise him with clanging cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals!  Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!"

Prophecy - "Tell my people that I am well pleased with all of them.  I have heard your praises, your prayers and petition and in my way and time I will answer all of them.  Remember to make me first as you begin your day.  Keep my commandments.  Honour my Son and ask for help of my Spirit in all your decision making.  In all of your trials, I have never and will never leave or forsake you, my beloved children.  I love you.  Go out and find the lost and bring them to me, your Father."

Scripture Reading Psalm 148:1-5 - "Praise the Lord!  Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise him in the heights.  Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his hosts.  Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all stars of light.  Praise him, highest heavens, and the waters that are above the heavens.  Let them praise the name of the Lord; for he commanded and they were created."

Scripture Reading Job 42:1-6 - "Then Job answered the Lord and said:  I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be hindered.  I have dealt with great things that I do not understand; things too wonderful for me, which I cannot know.  I had heard of you by word of mouth, but now my eye has seen you.  Therefore I disown what I have said, and repent in dust and ashes."

Scripture Reading Psalm 103:15-22 - "As for mortals, their days are like grass, they flourish like the flower of the field, for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.  But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.  The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.  Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, obedient to his spoken word.  Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will.  Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion.  Bless the Lord, O my soul."

Scripture Reading Jeremiah 29:11-14 - "For I know well the plans I have for your welfare, not for woe!  plans to give you a future full of hope.  When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you.  When you look for me, you will find me.  Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, you will find me with you, says the Lord, and I will change your lot."

Scripture Reading Psalm 100 - "Invitation to praise God - Acclaim Yahweh, all the earth, serve Yahweh gladly, come into his presence with songs of joy!  Know that he, Yahweh, is God, he made us and we belong to him, we are his people, the flock that he pastures.  Walk through his porticos giving thanks, enter his courts praising him, give thanks to him, bless his name!  Yes, Yahweh is good, his love is everlasting, his faithfulness endures from age to age."

Scripture Reading Luke 12:32-34 - "Do not live in fear, little flock, it has pleased your Father to give you the kingdom.  Sell what you have and give alms.  Keep purses for yourselves that do not wear out, a never-failing treasure with the Lord which no thief comes near nor any moth destroys.  Wherever your treasure lies, there your heart will be."

Scripture Reading Ephesians 5:6-14 - "Do not let anyone deceive you with foolish words; it is because of these very things that God's anger will come upon those who do not obey him.  So have nothing at all to do with such people.,  You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become the Lord's people, you are in the light.  So you must live like people who belong to the light, for it is the light that brings a rich harvest of every kind of goodness, righteousness, and truth.  Try to learn what pleases the Lord.  Have nothing to do with the worthless things that people do, things that belong to the darkness.  Instead, bring them out to the light. (It is really too shameful even to talk about the things they do in secret.)  And when all things are brought out to the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed; for anything that is clearly revealed becomes light.  That is why it is said, 'Wake up, sleeper, and rise from death, and Christ will shine on you.'"

Prophecy - "My children, I love you so much.  I love that you have accepted my love in your life.  I love that you desire to do my will.  I love that you desire to want to know me more fully and I love that you utilize the gifts that I have bestowed within you.  My children, my love for you exists not just in you, and my love for you exists in all my children, those that have come to know me and those that have not come to know me.  And it is you, my children, who know of the light that will be able to bring that light to those who do not know me because I desire that they, too, may come to full freedom from their slavery to sin, slavery to the lies and the deceptions and evil of this world.  I need you, my children.  Please, please continue to respond, continue to open the spirit up to the gifts that I have given you."

Confirmation - I can confirm that prophecy.  God gave me almost verbatim the same words.

Teaching

Fr. Robert Faricy spoke on Discernment of Spirits.  What is it?  It's judging in love, judging what is and what is not from the Lord.  Is it from the Lord or something else?  Is it from some other spirit, maybe evil spirit or the devil or some kind of sinful tendency on my part or is it how I feel?   1 Corinthians 12:4-7  St. Paul lists it as a charism.  1 John 4 - the whole chapter talks about discernment of spirits because the whole chapter talks about love.  How do I discern spirits?  First of all, gather objective criteria.  Is my idea congruent with what is in the Lord's heart?  Does it match with what he wants for me?  i.e. buying a car - objective criteria - do I have the money, what can I afford, how are prices right now, talk to someone in the family who knows about used cars - gather all the facts.  Then, maybe it's very clear what I should do or maybe I still don't know.  Then I turn to the Lord.  I'm choosing between two goods.  I want to do the better of two goods, that's the discernment of spirits.  In the NT it was used for the validation of prophecies - they knew which were prophecies, non prophecies, or coming from evil spirits.  Subjective criteria - turning to the Lord and going on the basis of consolation and desolation.  Consolation - when I am heart to heart with God, how do I feel about this particular thing?  Peace?  I want to be free to go either way or else I'll skew the decision.  I look at Jesus and which direction he's leaning.  I want my heart to have the same thought that Jesus has in his heart and then I go with my heart.  It's always between two goods.  The Lord wants us to do the better thing, not just the good.  Can the devil fool us?  Yes, but he can't hold up.  What he doesn't have is perseverance.  He gives up.  Stay with the process.  In an important decision such as vocation, marriage, give it time like 2-3 weeks.  i.e. Fr. Faricy's discernment re going as a missionary to Africa vs getting a Doctorate in Theology.  Discernment in community - everybody makes their individual discernment.  If you all agree, the process is finished.  If there isn't an agreement, then come together, pray and work it out.  Formulate all your questions for yes and no answers.  Do it 2 or 3 times until you agree.

Testimony

Becoming a Catholic through the Charismatic Renewal - Teri now considers some things from her childhood as gifts from God.  She grew up in the United Church with God and the bible in her life, knowing that God loved her.  Her Mom showed a reverance for Our Lady and the Saints.  Teri believed without a doubt that the cube of bread and small glass of grape juice that she held in her hand at 16 were the body and blood of Christ.  In 1982, a neighbor came over for a visit over tea.  She noticed that Teri was hurting and she said she had the perfect solution for Teri's problem and invited her to a Life in the Spirit Seminar that her prayer group was putting on.  Teri went, was baptized in the Spirit, received the gift of tongues and other gifts.  In May, she went to the priest for the first time, continued until August 15, when she was confirmed.  She received many pictures, visions, bible readings and words.  One example of a picture was Teri holding Jesus' hand as they walked through some very cold water and over some stones.  All she saw were his feet and his hands.  Someone else at the prayer meeting saw the other half of the picture.  Another picture she was given was some stuff on a grassy surface.  Despite a weather advisory, they went sailing through the Gulf Islands.  Teri recognized the picture when she woke up on Sunday morning.  In the bay where they were anchored, she looked out to see the debris floating after the previous night's storm.  It was just like that picture that she saw.  In September, her neighbor and some friends believed Teri received a healing.  After years of hoping for a baby, Tony was conceived in October and born July 16.  Thank-you, Jesus.  Teri recognized Jesus' presence in her life then and now.  She knows that he always had a plan for her and he answers her prayers.

Answer to Prayer

A few weeks ago, Halanna asked for prayers for her grandson who was not allowed to be with his father because his mother was controlling his visits with the father, Halanna's son.  Two days after Halanna asked for prayers, the 11-year-old grandson wrote a letter to his mother.  He said, "Mom, I want to be with my Dad for 5 days in a row and if you don't agree, I'm going to spank you."  The father has had many days with the son in the last week and half.  Praise God!
