The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting. 1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said." 1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.
Scripture Reading at beginning of meeting Luke 2:8-14 - "Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Christ and Lord. And this will be a sign for you; you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.""
Scripture Reading Psalm 150:1-6 - "Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty expanse. Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with harp and lyre. Praise him with timbrel and dancing; praise him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise him with loud cymbals; praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!"
Scripture Reading 1 Cor 11:1 - "Be imitators of me."
Scripture Reading Wisdom 2:16-20 - "We are considered by him as something base, and he avoids our ways as unclean; he calls the last end of the righteous happy, and boasts that God is his father. Let us see if his words are true, and let us test what will happen at the end of his life; for if the righteous man is God's child, he will bring him, and will deliver him from the hand of his adversaries. Let us test him with insult and torture, so that we may find out how gentle he is, and make trial of his forbearance. Let us condemn him to a shameful death, for, according to what he says, he will be protected."
Prophecy - "Let us invite Jesus to be born in our hearts once again this Christmas."
Max Lucado's talk was entitled "Maybe he is the Messiah". He told the story of an unhappy man who was told that one of his neighbors was the Messiah in disguise. He started to look for him and he started to see things that he hadn't seen in his neighbors. Was this person or that person the Messiah? And in time, his attitude started to change. When someone asked him why he was so happy, he said that he didn't know. All he knew was that things changed when he started looking for God.
Another story was the story of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan. Anne's persistence won over Helen and taught her to communicate. God is using every possible means to communicate with us. He wants us to find out way home.
THERE WILL BE NO MEETINGS UNTIL JANUARY 8. We wish you a very blessed Christmas and a happy New Year!!!
