Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream September 2, 2026

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

At beginning of meeting Scripture Reading Luke 4:18 - The Lord sent me to bring glad tidings to the poor and to proclaim liberty to captives.  And Psalm 31:20 - How great is the goodness, Lord, that you keep for those who fear you.

Scripture Reading Acts 2:1-4 - When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.  And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and  resting on each one of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.    "I believe God is calling all of us to pray for that fire on the land."

Prayer - "Lord, we invite you into this meeting.  We invite you into our hearts and into our lives, into our joys and into our struggles.  And we pray that you would pour down your Holy Spirit on the land, on those who believe that you would bring them the power of your Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit to know what to say and how to say it and who to say it to, to those who do not know you.  Whether it be through dreams, through prophetic word or through experiences that only you understand, Lord, bring them to know you, that you are God, you are the one true God.  Lord, we pray that this igniting in all of us, in all parts of the world, that this would be a time of incredible change and a rebirth of your people.  We pray this in Jesus' name.

Scripture Reading Psalm 90:1-6 - Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.  You turn us back to dust, and say, "Turn back, you mortals."  For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night.  You sweep them away; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning; in the morning it flourishes and is renewed; in the evening it fades and withers.

Scripture Reading John 14:1-3 - Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.  If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

Scripture Reading Psalm 106:47-48 - Save us, O Lord our God, and bring us back from among the nations, so that we may be thankful and praise your holy name.  Praise the Lord, the God of Israel, praise him now and forever more.  Let everyone say, "Amen."  Praise the Lord.

When that one song, "Jesus in the morning and Jesus in the darkness" was very powerful to me.  I've been reading a book on angels intervention in human life when in trouble and that name is so powerful.  Uttering that when you're in trouble or things are bothering you or you can't get a handle on things, there's power in his name.

Confirmation of a couple of the words/Scripture Reading Isaiah 12:2-5 - "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, he has become my salvation."  With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.  And you will say in that day, "Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name.  Make known his deeds among the nations; proclaim that his name is exalted."  Sing praises to the Lord for he has done gloriously; let this be known in all the earth.

Confirmation/Prophecy - I just want to confirm that reading because the words that have been going through my mind are:  "Do not be discouraged.  I am with you."

From the Daily Anchor by Chris Stefanick, a letter that was written around the year 125 AD - "Look at how amazing these people are.  They love one another.  The widows they do not turn away and they deliver the orphan from those who treat them harshly.  When they see a stranger, they take him into their homes and ?? as a brother.  And if there is among them any that is poor and needy, they have no spare food, they fast two or three days in order to supply to the needy their lack of food.  Every morning and every hour they give thanks  and praise to God for loving kindnesses toward them.  And if any righteous man among them passes from the world, they rejoice and offer thanks to God." ...... Before someone was baptized in the early Church, questions asked about them:  Have they honored the widow?  Have they visited the sick?  Have they lived honorably?   Tertullian about Christians:  See how they love one another and how they are ready to die for one another. ..... You are the only bible someone might ever read. 

Scripture Reading Isaiah 30:20-21 - The Lord will give you the bread you need and the water for which you thirst.  No longer will your teacher hide himself but with your own eyes you shall see your teacher.  While from behind a voice will sound in your ear, "This is the way, walk in it," whenever you would turn to the right or to the left.  

Teaching

Richard & Natalie spoke on "A Life That Lights the Way".  2 Thess 3:9 - "We wanted to present ourselves as a model for you to imitate."  Christianity is caught as much as it is taught.  The Saints are our models across every vocation.  Every Saint shows a different "face" of Christ.  Their lives say to us:  "Holiness is possible.  Holiness is practical.  Holiness is for you." 

You are a model for others.  Your life is preaching even when your mouth is not.  Someone is learning Christ from you even if you don't realize it.  

What do people feel when they encounter me?  Do I bring noise, or do I bring light?  Do I leave people stirred up, or lifted up?  

One person felt the Lord whisper:  "Be the kind of person whose name brings warmth, not weariness.  Be a witness of my gentleness.".

Most evangelization is not dramatic.  It is small, steady, faithful:  a gentle word, a patient response, a generous act, a prayer whispered for someone, a refusal to complain and a willingness to serve.

We can be a model of hope in a troubled world.  St. Paul worked and lived responsibly even though he believed Jesus could return at any moment.  He teaches us:  Hope in Christ does not make us passive.  We do not withdraw from the world.  We build it.  We serve it.  We love it.  We prepare it for Christ's return.  i.e.  starfish story:  "I made a difference for that one."  

Three simple daily practices:  Be present - listen deeply.  Be consistent - pray daily.  Be generous - serve quietly.  

Three spiritual practices:  Confession, Eucharist, Scripture.

Three relational practices:  Speak blessing, not complaint.  Forgive quickly.  Encourage often.
