Sep 10, 2020

Scripture Reading at opening of prayer meeting:  Psalm 119:105-112 - "Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light for my path.  I will keep my solemn promise to obey your just instructions.  My sufferings, Lord, are terrible indeed.  Give me life, Lord, as you promised.  Accept my prayer of thank you, Lord, and teach me your commands.  I am always ready to risk my life, I have not forgotten the law.  Your commandments are my eternal possession; they are the joy of my heart.  I have decided to obey your laws until the day I die."

Vision/Prophecy:  At the beginning our our praise I saw a cloud, the Spirit, enveloping us, all around.  I heard the Lord say, "Always speak my name in everything that you do.  Always speak and use my name."  And he keeps saying, "Do you trust me in all these hardships that we are going through right now?"  To trust him.  And he kept asking, "Do you trust me, do you trust me?"  And that he is with us in all we do and to use his name all the time.

Word of Knowledge:  I sense that someone is feeling very burdened and very discouraged.  Jesus just wants you to know that he is carrying your burden, even if you don't see it.  Trust him completely.  He is carrying it for you.  He will unbind the chains that are around you and if you feel like your hands are tied, he will be your hand.  If you feel you cannot walk, he will walk in your place and carry you.

Confirmation/Prophecy:  While we were singing, what came to me was, "My children, I am with you always.  Trust me at all times."

Someone declared that word for herself because she was feeling discouraged and very angry today because of an incident that happened.

Prophecy:  "My children, my mercy is being poured upon you, tonight, my children.  I love you.  I love you so great.  I desire to heal you.  Yes, my children, it is a time of heavy burden.  Yes, my children, there are many who are lost and confused.  But, my children, my mercy is upon you and upon all my people and I continue calling you to come to me for I will give you that comfort.  I will give you that peace and I will give you that joy that your heart so desires.  Believe, my children, and know that I am with you now.  I am a God of compassion, a God of love and a God of mercy."

Vision:  Amazing rainbow.  It started off as one rainbow and all of a sudden. there's more and more and in the middle of it is a dove with the olive branch in its beak.  It's a promise of tomorrow.  It's a promise of healing that's coming.

As you were describing that vision, what came to mind was the rainbow being new life and that the Holy Spirit is pouring this gift of new life upon many.

Scripture Reading Psalm 46:10-11 - "Be still and know that I am God.  I am exalted among the nations.  I am exalted in the earth.  The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge."

I keep hearing the words, "I have come to bring a fire on the earth but O, that it were already burning."

Interpretation:  God is going to reveal the sins of all of us to us and he's going to set his ?? ablaze in our hearts to burn up all the evil that is deep in the wounds within us and to set on fire everything that is not of him and to burn out hate and smoke out Satan with fire of the Holy Spirit.

Interpretation:  The blazing fire is a fire of the light of Christ that lives within the hearts of man.

I can confirm those two interpretations.

Prophecy:  What comes to me is, "Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and hope in the Lord."

Scripture Reading Psalm 23:4 - "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for you are at my side."

Teaching

Sr. Nancy Kellar spoke on "Forgiveness and Mercy".  The Lord wants us not only to know the Father's merciful love but also he wants us to extend that mercy and that love and that forgiveness to one another.  Unforgiveness binds us, keeps us in chains.  Psalm 124 - "He has set us free like a bird from a hunter's cage."  The image the Lord gave Sr. Nancy was a bird cage with the door removed.  That's what it means that the Lord saved us and set us free.  He's taken the door off the cage.  We don't have to be bound in any way.  She looked again at the image and the bird was still inside the cage and she was the bird.  The Lord showed her that it's not enough that he's taken the door off the cage.  If you really want to be free, you have to fly out of the cage.  She said she could not fly out, she was too weak, too hurt.  In her heart, she heard, "I know."  "I know," he says to us, "That's why I've given you my Holy Spirit."  The Holy Spirit is the power to fly out of the cage.  The Holy Spirit is the power to forgive.

Forgiveness is not a feeling.  It's a decision.  Story of Corrie Ten Boom.  The Lord meets us where we are and he brings us where he wants us to be.  The Lord says to each one of us, "You can't, but I can.  Decide to forgive and I will empower you to forgive."

St. John of the Cross said, "A bird tied to the ground by a string is just as bound as a bird tied to the ground by a chain."  The Lord is saying, "This night, I want to cut the chains, I want to cut the strings.  I want to empower you to forgive that you may know the joy, the joy of being free of bitterness and anger and resentment.  Do you believe that it is bitterness, it is anger, it is unforgiveness that keeps you without the joy, the fullness of the joy that I want for you?"

The Lord is saying, "I want you to forgive even as I have forgiven you."  (Col 1).   And the way he forgives us is to put our sins far from him.  The Lord wants us not only to forgive but also to forget.  And that forgetting does not mean we suppress the memory but it means we allow the healing power of God to enter into those memories of hurts and touch them and bring comfort and consolation.  The Lord wants us not only to forgive and to forget; he wants us to store up blessings.  He wants us to live in an attitude of forgiving joy every day.   Luke  - Store up blessings, not curses.  We can store up negative feelings, curses, by rerunning a hurt.

The Lord is calling us to be witnesses - a people who love one another.

Sharing after talk

Someone had to choose to forgive.  It wasn't a wound that could be healed instantaneously.  It was a continuous, "Lord, I choose to forgive.  Heal that brokenness."  After a number of years, a priest said that there was one last step that might totally bring release of that bondage.  He said, "Next time you go to receive Communion, (in your imagination) walk down the aisle with this person, and as you go to receive Communion, take that person's hand and receive Communion with that person and surrender it to the Holy Eucharist."

When this person did this, the love of Christ just immersed into the person's whole being.  This person saw the people who hurt them with the love of Christ.  From that point on, this person discovered that whenever they choose to forgive, the love of Christ changes their perception of that individual.  They can see the love that Christ has for that person.

Praise Report

Last week, we prayed for someone's relationship with their brother to be healed.  On Thursday morning, this person received a short email from the brother, the first one in almost a year.  We were asked to pray for this healing to continue.
