Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream October 9, 2024

Oct 10, 2024

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

Scripture Reading at beginning of meeting, Luke 10:19-20, 23-24 - "See what I have done; I have given you power to tread on snakes and scorpions and all the forces of the enemy, and nothing shall ever injure you.  Nevertheless, do not rejoice so much in the fact that the devils are subject to you as that your names are inscribed in heaven.  Turning to his disciples he said to them privately: "Blest are the eyes that see what you see.  I tell you, many prophets and kings wished to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."

Prophecy - "Yes my name is more powerful than any other name.  Whenever you are afraid say my name out loud.  Whenever you are in despair say my name out loud.  I am there with you.  Say my name out loud."

Scripture Reading 1 John 4:7-11 - "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.  By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through him.  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."

Scripture Reading Psalm 62:6-9 - "My soul, be at rest in God alone, from whom comes my hope.  God alone is my rock and my salvation,  my secure height; I shall not fall.  My safety and glory are with God, my strong rock and refuge.  Trust God at all times, my people!  Pour out your hearts to God our refuge!"

Scripture Reading Romans 9:24-26 - For we are the people he called, not only from among the Jews but also from among the Gentiles.  This is what he says in the book of Hosea:  "The people who were not mine I will call 'My People.'  The nation that I did not love I will call 'My Beloved.'  And in the very place where they were told, 'You are not my people,' there they will be called the children of the living God.".  Nothing is too small

Prophecy - I sense the Lord saying to call on me in all things.  Nothing is too small, nothing is too big.  Call on me at all times for anything when we are concerned or when we are thankful for whatever it is, just call my name.

Prophecy - I keep hearing the words: Everything God creates will endure forever.  Anything God creates will endure forever.

Scripture Reading Daniel 3:31-33 - King Nabuchadnezzar who threw the three young men into the fire,  he is praising God.  It's a miracle.  "King Nabuchadnezzar to all peoples, nations and languages, dwellings throughout the world, may you prosper more and more.  It is my pleasure to make known the signs and wonders which the Most High God has stayed with me,  How great his signs.  How mighty his wonders.  His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.  His empire endures age after age."

Scripture Reading Psalm 121 - "I lift up my eyes towards the mountains.  Where shall my help come from?  My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.  He neither lets me fall nor lets any harm come to me.  Indeed, you my Lord, neither slumbers nor sleeps, the guardian of your beloved children.  Yes, the Lord is my guardian, my shade.  You are always beside me at your right hand.  The sun shall not harm me by day nor the moon by night.  You, my Lord, will guard me from all evil, will guard my life and my coming and my going both now and forever."

Prophecy - "You have no idea how powerful my name is.  Call on my name.  Call my name and I will not disappoint you.  I will answer your every need.  I will fill you with all of me.  My Spirit will come upon you in all its power.  My little ones, you have the power in your hand, on your lips.  Call on me.  Call in my name and you will se miracle after miracle.  Trust me.  Trust me.  I am with you always."

Words of Knowledge - There will be restoration for a son and his mother.  There will be healing of knees.  Someone will overcome fear of death.  Someone is going to have eye surgery and they're quite worried and it will go alright.  A man will get the job he wants.  Safe travel for someone who is afraid to travel.

Scripture Reading Zephaniah 1:14-16, 2:5-7 - "The great day of the Lord is near, near and hastening fast; the sound of the day of the Lord is bitter, the warrior cries aloud there.  That day will be a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of ruin and devastation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet blast and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the lofty battlements.  Inhabitants of the seacoast, you nations of the Cherethites!  The word of the Lord is against you, O Canaan, land of the Philistines; and I will destroy you until no inhabitant is left.  And you, O seacoast, shall be pastures, meadows for shepherds and folds for flocks.  The seacoast shall become the possession of the remnant of the house of Judah, on which they shall pasture, and in the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening.  For the Lord their God will be mindful of them and restore their fortunes."

Teaching

Are All Religions a Path to God? by Ralph Martin.  Pope Francis recently said in a talk to young people in Singapore:  One of the things that impressed me most by the young people here is your capacity for interfaith dialogue.  This is very important because if you start arguing my religion is more important than yours or mine is the true one, yours is not true, where does this lead?  A young person answered, "Destruction."  The Pope said, "That is correct.  All religions are paths to God.  I'll use an analogy.  They're like different languages that express the divine, but God is for everyone.  Therefore we are all God's children."

It's problematic to say we're all God's children.  We're all created in the image of God.  We're all destined to be adopted into the family of God as sons and daughters of God, but that happens through faith in Christ at baptism.  It blurs the distinction between those who are in Christ and those who are not in Christ.  There's a huge difference.  It's a matter of salvation.

The Catholic Church teaches is that people in various religions have the possibility of being saved, not because of religion.  As religious systems they're not salvific.  The only religion really fully established by God as a means of salvation of the human race is Christianity, particularly the Catholic Church.

Seems to be a pattern of this happening in a couple of areas:  the uniqueness of Christ and the urgency of evangelization.  Lately less emphasis on evangelization and more warnings about proselytism and more concern and focus on all of us getting along.

Some are concerned about this.  There is confusion.  Causing division.

Most of the African Bishops Conferences have said that the Document the Pope approved on same-sex couples is against the Word of God.  Recently, the Archbishop head of the Pan African Bishops Conferences said this document is a dead letter in Africa.  We're not going to do it.

Archbishop Chaput of Philadelphia:  Pope Francis has a habit, by now well-established, of saying things that leave listeners confused and hoping he meant something other than what he actually said.  All religions have equal weight is an extraordinary flawed idea for a successor of Peter to appear to support.

Dr. Jeffrey Myers:  All religions are not on the same path.  They're all not even paths to God. 1) Those like Buddhism and Confucianism are mostly human philosophy.  2) Those that derive from tribal traditions which may be purely natural or diabolically inspired, now morphing into contemporary popular commitments to witchcraft or direct and deliberate devil worship.  3) Those like Hinduism are strange combinations of human philosophies with rather obviously diabolical mythologies.  4) Judaism which remains in a class by itself being uniquely predicated in God's self revelation, with ceasing to accept ongoing revelation, the coming of Jesus Christ.  4) Odd religious amalgamations like Islam and Mormonism which are combinations of other religions and which claim without any evidence a specific revelation all their own.  5) Then there are sects which like all the Protestant forms begin with their appreciation for miraculously attested divine revelation but rejected the revealed authority principle that was intended to guarantee it against human tampering.  So, the role of pope is important.

When things are said or done, when it seems to water down the uniqueness of Christ, it seems to lull people not wanting to share the faith with others.  Salvation is at stake.  It's possible for people who don't know the Gospel to respond in some amazing way to a grace God gives them to say yes to him, a yes that implies if I knew more I'd really surrender to it.

Baptism of Desire is a possibility but it really needs to be an implicit desire for baptism.  Under certain conditions, it is possible.  Conditions:  1) That they don't know what the Gospel is.  2)  Nevertheless, they care about knowing who God is and seeking him.  3) They're trying to live according to the light of their conscience assisted by the light and grace that God is giving them.

It's kind of tough to fulfill these conditions.  Most people don't.  People are deeply affected by the flesh and the devil.  Many people aren't seeking God.  So, it's urgent that the Church carry out its mission of evangelization.

Ralph knows that one of the things the devil wants to do is silence the Gospel.  He doesn't want the name of Jesus to be spoken.  He doesn't want people to hear about it, to believe in him and be saved.
