The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting. 1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said." 1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.
Scripture Reading at beginning of meeting, Isaiah 49:5 - Before I was born, the Lord appointed me; he made me his servant to bring back his people, to bring back the scattered people of Israel. The Lord gives me honor; he is the source of my strength.
Word of Knowledge - I just had a word that stuck in my mind and I have no clue what it means to anybody or if it means anything to anybody, but the word is "patch".
The word "Hallelujah", I could sing it from the bottom of my heart because I prayed so much about the fires; that the wind would blow away from the towns and reserves that they wouldn't be scorched and look at how it is: a lot of forest is burnt but very few houses like Flin Flon, so Hallelujah! And the other Hallelujah, I'm thinking about my trip. When God wants you to go somewhere and do something, He really, really is there with every single thing that you need. I needed peace and my sister needed peace because she was thinking she was not at home and she was running out. When I came there, I had peace and she had peace, and everything else. You need strength, you need courage, you need perseverance; and God gave it all. Hallelujah!
Scripture Reading Proverbs 17:1 - Better a dry crust with peace than a house full of feasting with strife.
Prophecy - "Abide in me and I in you. Do not dwell in other places."
Scripture Reading Isaiah 48:12 - Listen to me, Israel, the people I have called! I am God, the first, the last, the only God!
Scripture Reading Psalm 22:7-11 - All who see me sneer at me; they separate with the lip, they wag the head, saying, "Commit yourself to the Lord; let Him deliver him; let Him rescue him, because He delights in him." Yet You are He who brought me forth from the womb; You made me trust when upon my mother's breasts. Upon You I was cast from birth; You have been my God from my mother's womb. Be not far from me, for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
Mitch Albom spoke about his visits with Morrie Schwartz who was dying from ALS. Mitch watched as people went in to comfort Morrie and they ended up being comforted by Morrie. Morrie said, "Why would I ever take from people like that? Taking makes me feel like I'm dying. Giving makes me feel like I'm living."
Near the end of his life, Morrie asked Mitch for a favor. He asked him to visit him at his grave; to stay awhile and talk to him about what's going on in his life and the world, etc. Just like they were talking now, only Mitch would talk and Morrie would listen.
Mitch realized if you live your life, making time for people, giving of yourself to people, sharing of yourself with other people, then when you're gone, you live on inside the head and hearts of people. You gave them something to remember you by.
A small act of kindness that makes a memory and affects them. One life touches another, touches another and touches another. You'll never know the ripple that you are causing in that pond with that little stone of kindness that you share with somebody else.
We're to make each day precious.
David's son-in-law had been looking for another job. We had prayed for that intention. He now has a new job. Thank-you, Lord!
