The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting. 1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said." 1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.
Scripture Reading at beginning of meeting, Psalm 145:1-5 - I will extol you, O God and King, and I will bless your name forever and ever. Every day will I bless you, and I will praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and highly to be praised; his greatness is unsearchable. Generation after generation praises your works and proclaims your might. They speak of the splendor of your glorious majesty and tell of your wondrous works.
Scripture Reading Sirach 41:3-4 - Do not fear death's decree for you; remember those who went before you and those who will come after. This is the Lord's decree for all flesh; why then should you reject the will of the Most High? Whether life lasts for ten years or a hundred or a thousand, there are no questions asked in Hades.
Word of Knowledge - I just have a sense that there is somebody who has an issue with their throat. And I just thought if anybody does, we can just pray for healing in that area.
Two quotes from a book, Perfect Trust, by Charles Swindoll - Our all-wise, all-knowing God reigns in rounds that is beyond our comprehension to bring about a plan that is beyond our ability to hinder, alter or stop. When we do embrace God's sovereignty, we find that confidence increases, insecurities fade, worries decrease and calmness embraces striving.
Scripture Reading Psalm 91:9-13 - You have made the Lord your defender, the Most High your protector, and so no disaster will strike you, no violence will come near your home. God will put his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones. You will trample down lions and snakes, fierce lions and poisonous snakes.
I was kind of struck tonight about how all the songs kind of flowed together. Sometimes I kind feel that I don't appreciate all that Jesus was for us but when they kind of said that God was with us from the beginning and he didn't want to be in heaven without us, so he sent his Son, Jesus Christ. So, when we are with Jesus Christ, we are ..?... in heaven and earth, but he also came to bring us back to him, back to the Father, with the Father and all the angels. So, it was kind of a complete circle and we have to just trust in that all the time.
Ralph Martin's sharing entitled, Angels Will Come For Us. Matt 24:29-31 - Immediately after the suffering of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see "the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven" with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call; and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
There are so many angels and they play such an important role in saving the human race. It was the angel of the Lord who led the Israelites out of Egypt and protected them from the pursuing chariots of Pharoah.
2 Kings 6:15-23 - When an attendant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. His servant said, 'Alas, master! What shall we do?' He replied, 'Do not be afraid, for there are more with us than there are with them.' Verses 17-23 is a remarkable example of what Jesus tells us to do in the New Testament; love your enemies, bless those who persecute you. Paul says when you're doing that, you are heaping up coals of fire on their head, the fire of God's love, the fire of conviction, the fire of repentance, the fire of a change.
All through the books of the prophets: Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Daniel, etc., angels play a really significant role. Isaiah said he couldn't do this. He was a man of unclean lips and the Lord sent an angel with a burning coal to cleanse Isaiah's lips and soul. Ezekiel saw tremendous visions of God in his glory on his throne surrounded with myriads of angels.
Daniel 9:20-23 - While I was speaking, and was praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God on behalf of the holy mountain of my God - while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen before in a vision, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice. He came and said to me, 'Daniel, I have now come out to give you wisdom and understanding. At the beginning of your supplications a word went out, and I have come to declare it, for you are greatly beloved.
We are greatly beloved and our prayers will be answered. And a word has been sent out to us. It's the word of Jesus, himself. It's the Word of God in the sacred scriptures. It's the word of God speaks into our soul in prayer. It's a word of encouragement that our brother or sister that gives us; for we are greatly beloved.
What the angel Gabriel shows Daniel is that there is tremendous battle going on. Daniel 10 shows that it's awesome to run into an angel. Angels are powerful. Angels are holy. Angels are magnificent. But angels are sent to us and the holy fear we feel when we see an angel prepares us to take the right attitude towards God.
Catherine of Siena said, "Lord, I am the one who is not. You are the One who is.
When we are tempted to fear, the Lord wants to say to us, "Do not fear, greatly beloved. You are safe. You are safe, you are in the hands of the Lord. Even though you don't feel it, even though you don't see it, exercise your faith. You are safe. Be strong and courageous, greatly beloved."
Revelation 5 - John is being shown things by the Lord. Verse 11 - angels numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. As mighty and as numerous the angels are, they are sent by God to express such a depth of personal love, as such a help.
Matt 18:1-10 - At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a child, whom he put among them, and said, 'Truly, I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever become humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. If any of you put a stumbling-block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were fastened around your neck and you were drowned in the depth of the sea. (Jesus does not like people who cause people to sin. Jesus does not like people who lead people away from him.) Woe to the world because of stumbling-blocks! Occasions for stumbling are bound to come, but woe to the one by whom the stumbling-block comes! If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life maimed or lame than to have two hands or two feet and to be thrown into the eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and to be thrown into the hell of fire. Take care that you do not despise one of these little ones; for, I tell you, in heaven their angels continually see the face of my Father in heaven.'
That's us. We're little ones. We're accepting the kingdom of God wholeheartedly. We're believing the Lord. Yes, we fall but we get up again. Our angels are continually seeing the face of the Father. Our angels are helping us to know the Father and to love the Father, to know the Son and to love the Son. The angels are working overtime to protect us so many times.
Ralph Martin said that every time he leaves the house, he thanks the angel who is watching over his house, he thanks the angel who is watching over his family. Every time he gets in the car, he asks the guardian angel to please protect him and protect whoever is in the car with him. Ralph is convinced that he would have had numerous auto accidents and maybe not be alive today if the guardian angel hadn't protected him when he tried to move into another lane but a car was coming that he didn't see.
