There was no Word Gift because of personal ministry to each individual after the teaching.
The teaching was by Dr. Mary Healy on "Receiving Holy Spirit Power". 2023 Astbury revival was a Christian revival at Astbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. The revival was sparked by students spontaneously staying in Hughes Auditorium following a regularly scheduled chapel service on February 8, 2023. News of the phenomenon quickly spread through social media and in Christian online publications. By its end, the revival brought 50,000 70,000 visitors to Wilmore, representing more than 200 academic institutions and multiple countries. Dr. Mary Healy believes that God wants to show us that revival is not something human beings can decide will happen. Revival literally means bringing alive what we've said and only God can do that and this is what he wants to do in his church. It can't be achieved by any human planning, human program, human strategies; no matter how sincere, no matter how energetic they are. Bill Bright: "Revival is a divine visitation, a sovereign work of God in answer to sincere prevailing prayer. During a revival: 1) God will grip his people with deep conviction and repentance and forgiveness and deliverance from sin. 2) God will fill his people with the Holy Spirit and manifest through them the fruit and graces of the Holy Spirit. 3) God will fill the church and community with his presence and power. 4) God will cause non-Christians to earnestly seek him. 5) God will unite in his people, young and old, a passion to bring the lost to Christ at home and around the world. Why is he doing it now? The world is in a desperate condition now, turned away from God and his plan; a world full of brokenness. The fields are ripe for harvest. God is not done. God is relying on you who have experienced the past wave of the Holy Spirit in the Charismatic Renewal. He wants you to be rejuvenated and made alive in the Holy Spirit so that you can help steward what God is doing now. 1) Astbury University has a history of revival. 2) They had a hunger for a move of God which was an engine for intercessory prayer. People were praying for a revival. 3) They stewarded it well. They had the freedom to move with the Spirit. They allowed the Spirit to do what he was doing. Sometimes, we tend to be too structured. Jesus taught that our mission is rooted in his. "As the Father sent me, I send you." How did Jesus carry out his mission? It began with his baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sin, an act of humility. He would be in total solidarity with sinners. When he came up from the water, the heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended upon him. The Gospel does not say that the heavens then closed up again. The heavens stayed open above Jesus. From that day forward, he walked under an open heaven because his whole mission as man was to have access to heaven, to have access to all the glory, the blessings, the mercy, the healing, the power, the deliverance of heaven and distribute it on earth. From that day forward, he began to evangelize in power. He is God and yet, he chose to live as man, totally dependent on the Holy Spirit. Luke 4:18, Jesus' mission statement: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor; liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year of the Lord's favor." Isaiah 61: Good news with power. The gospel of Jesus is not only in words but in deeds that verify and corroborate the word. In this mission statement, Jesus attributes all the mighty works that he is about to do, not to his divine nature as Son of God, but to the anointing of the Holy Spirit on his human nature. This is important because we get the same Holy Spirit. Mark: Go, preach and these signs will accompany those who believe. We are to be the secret agents of the Lord, infiltrating this broken world with the presence of the Kingdom and establishing the Kingdom in areas where it isn't yet present. We are his secret weapon. Acts 4:29-30 - "O Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."
