Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream February 8, 2023

Feb 09, 2023

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

At beginning of meeting Scripture Reading Ephesians 3:20-21 - "To him who by means of his power working in us is able to do so much more than we can ever ask for, or even think of: to God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, forever and ever!"

Jesus will always come to us when we need him.

Scripture Reading Psalm 23 - "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.  In meadows of green grass he lets me lie.  To the waters of repose he leads me; there he revives my soul.  He guides me by paths of virtue for the sake of his name.  Though I pass through a gloomy valley, I fear no harm; beside me your rod and your staff are there, to hearten me.  You prepare a table before me under the eyes of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil, my cup brims over.  Ah, how goodness and kindness pursue me, every day of my life; my home, the house of the Lord, as long as I live!"

Scripture Reading Ephesians 6:10-11 & Song Lyric - "Be strong in the Lord and his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."    "Alone with none but thee, my God, we journey on our way.  Alone with none but thee, my God, we journey on our way.  What need we fear when thou art near, O King of night and day."

Scripture Reading Psalm 83:1-5 - "O God, do not keep silent; do not hold your peace or be still, O God!  Even now your enemies are in tumult, those who hate you have raised their head.  They lay crafty plans against your people; they conspire against those you protect.  They say, 'Come, let us wipe them out as a nation, let the name of Israel be remembered no more.'  They conspire with one accord against you; they make a covenant."

Confirmation of Ephesians - That we should take on the armor of God every single morning, not just for ourselves but for everyone that we pray for.

Scripture Reading Ecclesiasticus 37:16-18 - True and False Wisdom.  Reason must be the beginning of every activity, reflection must come before any undertaking.  Thoughts are rooted in the heart, and this sends out four branches:  good and evil, life and death, and always mistress of them all is the tongue."

Vision/Prophecy - I saw a cloud, like a cloud of witness; that was the sense I had because I also heard the Lord say at the same time, "Call upon these (our Saints), and to call upon all of your brothers and sisters.  To call in my name and to gather, gather everyone together.  Bring people and gather them.  Bring them to me."

Scripture Reading Psalm 47:1-8 - "Clap your hands, all you people; shout to God with loud songs of joy.  For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome, the great king over all the earth, he subdued people over us and nations under our feet.  He chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob whom he loves.  God has gone up with a shout; the Lord, with the sound of a trumpet.  Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our king, sing praises.  For God is the king of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm."

Teaching

We heard Ralph Martin speak on "Getting Ready for the Lord's Return."  Hebrews 9:27-28 - "Just as appointed that men die once, and after death be judged, so Christ was offered up once to take away the sins of many, but who will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await him."  Right now we need to reconcile with God, become his friend, so when the Lord returns as our glorious judge, our friend is coming to judge.  It means developing a relationship with the Lord, having a deep confidence in the truthfulness of his promises including those who believe in him even though they die, won't die, but will live forever.  2 Timothy 4:8 - "From now on, a merited crown awaits me, and not only to me, but to all who have looked for his appearing with eager longing."  1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 - "As regards specific times and moments, brothers, we do not need to write you.  You know very well that the day of the Lord is coming like a thief in the night."  That image of shock, unwelcome surprise will come to the world as a whole.  But Christians are supposed to experience it as a day of rescue, as a day of joy.  As it says in verse 4 - "You are not in the dark, brothers, that the day should catch you off guard like a thief.  No, all of you are children of light and of the day.  We belong neither to the darkness nor to night.  Therefore, let us not be asleep like the rest, but awake and sober."  So, trying our best to live a righteous life, getting up when we fall, asking for forgiveness when we sin, facing in God's direction.  Matthew 24:37 - Just like in the days of Noah, people are going to be eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage right up until the day in which Noah entered into the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all.  That's an image of the final judgement.  If people aren't paying attention to the Lord, they will be swept away.  Verse 8 - We who live by day must be alert, putting on faith and love as a breastplate and the hope of salvation as a helmet.  One of the things the devil is most doing today is taking away people's confidence in the inspiration and errancy of Sacred Scripture.  Verse 11 -  "Comfort and upbuild one another."  Verse 12 - "Respect those among you whose task it is to exercise authority in the Lord and admonish you."  Verse 16-22 - "Rejoice always.  Never stop praying.  Always give thanks.  This is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.  Do not stifle the Spirit.  Do not despise prophecy.  Test everything; retain what is good.  Avoid even the appearance of evil." God wants to guide us, speak to us.  St. Paul says, "Don't be foolish in your speaking."  Our speech has to be upbuilding; our speech has to be in the Lord.  St. James says our tongue is hard to tame.  We need to ask the Lord to help us.  How do we prepare for the Lord's return?  By living a fervent Catholic life; daily prayer; putting on faith, hope and love; respecting those who have authority in our midst; encouraging and consoling one another.  We need relationships, brothers and sisters who can encourage us, to admonish us when that's needed.  We need to be open to the Holy Spirit.  We need to be living in joy in the midst of darkness, in the midst of conflict.  Your friend, the judge, is coming.  He loves you and he's so eager to welcome you to his Father's house.
