Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream February 28, 2024

Mar 01, 2024

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

Scripture Reading Job 34:16-20 - "If you have understanding, hear this; listen to what I say.  Shall one who hates justice govern?  Will you condemn one who is righteous and mighty?  Who says to a king, 'You scoundrel,' and to princes, 'You wicked men,' who shows no partiality to nobles nor regards the rich more than the poor, they are all the work of his hands?  In a moment they die; at midnight the people are shaken and pass away; the mighty are taken away by not human hands."

Confirmation/Prophecy -  I can confirm that reading.  As well, I heard, "Look to the cloud."  And the thought came, "the cloud of witnesses are Saints."

Scripture Reading Matthew 11:28-30 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart; and you will find rest for souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."

Scripture Reading Psalm 111:7-9 - "In all he does he is faithful and just; all his commands are dependable.  They last for all time; they were given in truth and righteousness.  He set his people free and made an eternal covenant with them.  Holy and mighty is he!"

Matthew 6:19-21 - "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal.  But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be."

Scripture Reading Mark 1:11 - "You are my beloved.  On you my favor rests."

Prophecy - "Let your light shine.  Do not hide the light of Christ that is in you.  Let your light shine."

Teaching

Ron S. spoke on "Picturing His Presence."  God is closer to us than we are to ourselves.  Years ago, Ron & Leann took part weekly in the St. Ignatius Spiritual Exercises over nine months.  There was an examination of conscience, where you go through your life and find the things that kept you from knowing God more personally.  Ron saw that process as sitting on the beach and running his hands through the sand, finding bottle caps and pieces of broken shells.  At the end of each session, the homework was, "Go deeper."  Ron went deeper and deeper.  He went through the whole beach and there was nothing left.  Jesus said to him, "Ron, What about that huge boulder you're sitting on?  It's been buried in the sand, too."  Ron knew there was more work he had to do.  Another part of that exercise was to find a Scripture and put yourself in the scene.  Ron picked Mark 1:9-11, the baptism of Jesus.  So, Ron was standing on the shore with a bunch of people watching Jesus being baptized.  After the baptism, Ron was standing on the shore talking to Jesus.  Ron asked Jesus, "Was there some reason why you had your back to me the entire time?"  And he said, "You know me.  I don't turn my back on people.  It's not who I am.  But the question is, Ron, why did you decide to stand behind me?"  Ron:  "If I stood in front of you, I would be in the water."  He said, "Why are you afraid to be in the water with me?"  Some thought had to go into that.  Regarding prayer:  How many people fall asleep when in prayer?  Do we feel bad about that?  Why?  How would God react to that?  Would he say, "How rude?  In the middle of my sentence he falls asleep."  Or God like a loving parent saying, "Isn't that neat, she fell asleep in my lap.  Fantastic.  This is great."  It comes to how we look at things during prayer.  Look at it in terms of God as a loving parent being with you, reacting to you during your prayer.  God is closer to us than we are to ourselves.

Praise Reports

We had prayed for Joe's grandson to get a job.  He got a job and then he got a better job.  Thank you, Lord.

Richard thanked everyone for praying for his nose bleeds to stop.  It has now been 10 days without any bleeding.  Praise God!  He will be starting his warfarin again and we pray that there be no more incidents like in the past month.
