Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream August 2, 2023

Aug 03, 2023

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

Scripture Reading Jeremiah 26:1-7 - "At the beginning of the reign of King Jehoiakim son of Josiah of Judah, this word came from the Lord:  Thus says the Lord:  Stand in the court of the Lord's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah that come to worship in the house of the Lord; speak to them all the words that I command you; do not hold back a word.  It may be that they will listen, all of them, and will turn from their evil way, that I may change my mind about the disaster that I intend to bring on them because of their evil doings.  You shall say to them:  Thus says the Lord:  If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law that I have set before you, and to heed the words of my servants the prophets whom I send to you urgently - though you have not heeded - then I will make this house like Shiloh, and I will make this city a curse for all the nations of the earth.  The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord."

Scripture Reading Jeremiah 9:23-24 - ""Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories, glory in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight, says the Lord."

Jesus always comes during the day and he always comes at night.

Scripture Reading Scripture Reading Psalm 100:1-5 - "Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.  Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful singing.  Know that the Lord himself is God.  It is he who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.  Give thanks to him; bless his name.  For the Lord is good; his loving kindness is everlasting and his faithfulness to all generations."

Confirmation/Vision/Prophecy - Confirmation of Psalm 100 - the praise and to come to the Lord with thanksgiving.  I saw God's hand and I heard, "My hand is upon you."  And the sense was, "Do not be afraid."

Scripture Reading Psalm 62:11-12 - "More than once I have heard God say that power belongs to him and that his love is constant.  You yourself, O Lord, reward everyone according to their deeds."

Prophecy - The Lord is saying that we are his sheep because we know the Master's voice.  We are the sheep because he takes care of every need and that we follow him wherever he leads.  We're in his power and not on our own.

Teaching

Fr. Bob Miller spoke on "The Revolution of Forgiveness - Why Forgive Someone Who Has Harmed Us."    Story of St. John Bosco - St. John was opening schools for young boys who were off the street.  They were orphans.  So, he was constantly begging for money.  One day he was begging for money on the streets.  He came across a group of men and asked them if they had any money to give.  The men laughed at him and one man actually spat in his face.  St. John Bosco said, "Thank you, that was for me.  Now what are you going to give me for my boys?" The greatest challenge for us is learning to forgive.  There's two great commandments in our Christian faith:  You must love and you must forgive.  It's hard to forgive someone who has hurt us but in this process, we, ourselves, get healed.  Mark 2 - Jesus forgives the paralyzed man's sins first, before he heals him physically.  The healing cannot come until the forgiveness comes.  Three lessons from Matthew 18:21-35 - The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant:  1) We all are that first man who was forgiven that huge debt which could never be paid back.  Romans 3:23 - All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  But thank God, we have a King who has forgiven us.  Psalm 103 - He pardons your inequities, he heals your ills, he redeems your life from all destruction.  2) The consequences of not forgiving - We become imprisoned in ourselves.  We wind up tortured inside of our self, stuck in bitterness and it affects other people.  Hurt people hurt other people.  Forgiveness is about freedom.  The last thing to be converted in our human body is our emotions.  So, that's why forgiveness is hard to do.  Our emotions don't want to let go and so we have to work at forgiveness.  It takes time.  Forgiveness is not a feeling; it's a decision we make.  Pray to begin to forgive.  3) There's a community aspect of love.  There's a community aspect of forgiveness.  We need to pass on what was given to us.  We have been forgiven and so we forgive others.  Lord's prayer:  'Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."  Forgiveness is something you pay forward.  Luke 6:38 - Good measure pressed down, flowing over, we pour back to other people.  Luke 19 - Zacchaeus told the Lord if he cheated anyone, he will pay four times the amount.  Studies have shown the positive consequences to our bodies of living in a good way; being a forgiving person.  Forgiving people have lower blood pressure, lower bad cholesterol, better resting heart rates, improved sleep and immune systems, less depression, less anxiety and less anger, enhanced relationships, are more optimistic about life and have a greater sense of overall wellbeing.  Even our bodies reflect what our spirit receives from God.

Sharing Time

Scripture Reading Matthew 7:7-8 - "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."  This Scripture passage comes after Matthew 7:1-2 - "Do not judge, or you too will be judged.  For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Leslie shared that her second cataract surgery was successful.  Thank you, Lord.  And her sister in England has had medical concerns since she was 8 years old.  Recently, there was a concern which might have necessitated surgery.  But today, a specialist told her that she will only be monitored every 6 months.  She said that she was sure that it was the Holy Spirit speaking and guiding the doctor.  Her spirits have been lifted.  Thank you, Lord Jesus!
