Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream November 30, 2022

Dec 01, 2022

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

At start of meeting, Scripture Reading Psalm 136:1 - "Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, his love endures forever."

Words of Knowledge - Someone will be healed of blurry vision.  There will be a healing of cancer of the spleen.  Someone is to have heart surgery to have stents inserted.  All will go well.  A young man who's been rebellious towards his family for a few years will return to the family.  Grandchildren will return to Mass.  And I keep seeing a woman, I see these things by pictures, not by words, see a woman just devasted and crying a lot and Jesus says, it's a song we sing, "Come to the water and stand by my side.  I know you are crying.  You're dying inside and I'd love to remind you that for these tears I died."

Scripture Reading Isaiah 49:1, 3-6 - "Yahweh called me before I was born, from my mother's womb he pronounced my name.  He said to me, 'You are my servant in whom I shall be glorified'; while I was thinking, 'I have toiled in vain; I have exhausted myself for nothing'; and all the while my cause was with Yahweh, my reward with my God.  I was honoured in the eyes of Yahweh, my God was my strength.  And now Yahweh has spoken, he who formed me in the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him, to gather Israel to him:  'It is not enough for you to be my servant, to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back the survivors of Israel; I will make you the light of nations so that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.'"

Vision - I saw the Lord and he was on the cross.  It looked like it was sort of in the sky and I saw the most magnificent light.  It was so bright, brighter than I have ever seen, and just this warmth coming from it.

Scripture Reading Luke 11:24-28 - "When an unclean spirit goes out of someone, it roams through the regions searching for rest but, finding none, it says, 'I shall return to my home from which I came.'  But upon returning, it finds it swept clean and put in order.  Then it goes and brings back seven other spirits more wicked than the first who move in and dwell there, and the last condition of that person is worse than the first.  While he was speaking, a woman from the crowd called out and said to him, 'Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed.'  He replied, 'Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.'"

Scripture Reading Psalm 62:1-2, 8 - "For God alone my soul waits in silence, from him comes my salvation.  He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly moved.  Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us."

Scripture Reading John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you.  Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

Lucie claimed the word of knowledge of the woman crying, etc.  Also, it applies to Rosalie and Barbara's friend.

Patt claimed the healing of blurry vision.  That's the eye that was blind for five months and the Lord pulled the whole stuff off it while she was lying on her loveseat wondering what to make for supper one day.  Two specialists and the optometrist all told each other and talked about her.  It's that eye.

Joan claimed the grandchildren returning to Mass.

Teaching

Richard spoke on prophecy.  Total clicks on our website for three weeks in November was 3,240.  71% from Canada, 22% from the U.S.A., 7% from UK, Germany, Australia, Europe.  Fr. Peter Coughlin wrote that prophecy is an anointed communication from God to an individual or a group of believers to give encouragement, reproof, inspiration or guidance.  1 Cor 14:1 says, "Seek the gifts, especially prophecy."  Prophecies come in three ways:  sometimes the speaker receives the entire message, or a few words, or the sense of the prophetic word only.  Sometimes people tend to take the counsel or direction the Lord is giving to them personally, and they mistake it for the whole group.  Always, it is the group addressed that is to discern the word, to recognize if indeed it is God's word to them at that particular time.  Fr. Coughlin said that all prophecy needs to be tested and discerned for its clarity and all prophecy must be in tune with Scripture and Church teaching.  To test the Spirit, we need to check the tone of the prophecy - whether given in love or anger - check that it makes common sense and that it glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ.  Practice develops the gift and the quality of its delivery.  Prophecy can take many forms.  It may be prophetic exhortation, inspired prayer, prophecy in song, vision, prophetic actions, interpretation of tongues, prophetic preaching or teaching, inspired Scripture reading.  A common error is to read too long a passage so that the main point of the reading is missed.  Try to discern the key verses first.  Fr. Peter ended his teaching saying, "Always build up; don't tear down.  Do not try to control others with your prophecy.  Catch God's vision and proclaim it in love."  Isaiah 55 - "It shall not return to me void, but shall do my will."  Sr. Nancy Kellar said, to prophesy we need the necessary faith.  Prophecy comes more readily especially during vibrant worship and if we are in daily prayer with the Lord.  We should take care to speak the message exactly as we received it, neither adding nor taking away.  There can be a temptation to add or explain.  Sr. Nancy gave practical advice for getting started.  1) Earnestly desire the gifts of the Holy Spirit - especially that you may prophesy (1 Cor 14:1).  2) Trust the peace of God.  3) Obey the urgings of the Spirit.  The prophetic spirit is under your control.  You can turn it off or turn it on.  4) Don't rely on physical sensations.  5) Speak loudly and clearly, but not in condemning voice.  Prophesy in the appropriate place and at the right time. Leave corrective and directive words to experienced and mature brothers and sisters.  7) Some prophecies should only be spoken to an individual, others to a group.  8) What if you mess up?  Learn from your mistakes.  St. Paul writes, "Let no more than two or three prophets speak and let the rest judge the worth of what they say."  Ask the Lord for the whole message so that a person would prophesy only once during a meeting rather than many shorter messages.  Someone once said that prophecy not only says but it does.  In other words, an authentic word resonates with a person in their spirit.  Sr. Nancy gave five tests that are helpful in testing the prophecies.  1) Conformity to Scripture and established Christian teaching.  2) Testing the Spirit.  3) Do predicted occurrences actually take place?  4) Does it bear good fruit?  5) Just as important as testing of prophecies is the testing of prophets.  Is the person solid and stable in the Christian life?  Is the person free of serious wrongdoing?  Is he or she a person of basic emotional and psychological health?  Prophecy is an exercise in a spirit of service, not seeking attention because of loneliness, struggles, need for love, etc.  Is   his or her motivation pure?  Is he or she faithful to the prayer group?  Is the person submissive to proper authority?  Some examples of discernment were given and then the group broke up into smaller groups and went through an exercise of prophesying.  The following words were given in the different rooms:  One room:  A sense of wandering in a desert.  I love you with an everlasting love.  Many people will come.  You are not alone; I'm here with you.  Lord will lead you wherever you go.  Draw near to me and I will to you.  I am doing a mighty work; trust me.  Image of people holding hands.  Us holding each other up.  Be not afraid.  I'm here with you.  I am in your midst.  Come Holy Spirit.  I am doing a mighty work in you.  See my glory revealed.  Faith will be augmented and doubt removed.  Coming together of people.  All these prophecies confirming to all.  Second room:  Trust in me.  Trust in the Lord with all your heart.  My children, I love you.  Your trust means so much to me.  Come to me often.  I'm always here for you.  I've come that you may have life and have it to the full.  I will never leave you or forsake you.  I hold you in the palm of my hand.  Do not be afraid for I will always be with you.  Heaven and earth will pass away but my word will not pass away.  Seek me and you will find me.  My sheep hear my voice.  All who are weary come to me.  Third room:  Come, my children, open your hearts in faith and trust in my word.  Speak Lord, your servant is listening.  Send your power. Fourth room:  You, alone, am I prepared to serve.  You, alone, are my God.  Awake and be still.  Listen to the words that I have for you.  Be not anxious.  Persevere and hope.  Know that I am with you.  I will wipe away your tears.  Trust in me.  Be still and know that I am God.  Fifth room:  The Lord is my strength and my song.  All people are beautiful.  My fortress.  My heart will trust in him.  You are the apple of my eye.  I gave you health for a lifetime.  David, the Psalms, I picture the Michelangelo statue of David.  You are my delight.  Sing to the Lord a song.  All this shows God's immense love for us.

Suggestion:  In our prayer time, meditate on the words given at a meeting.  We could ask ourselves, "Is that prophecy for me?"  "How has the prophecy helped me?"  "How do I respond to it?"
