Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream May 17, 2023

May 18, 2023

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

Prophecy & Scripture Reading Matthew 6:9-13 - "Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.  This is how you are to pray."  It's the Lord's Prayer:  "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.  Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth.  Give us today our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And do not subject us to the final test, but deliver us from the evil one."  And the Lord also says, "Do not forget this, if you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive you your transgressions."

Scripture Reading Isaiah 57:13-15 - "When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you!  The wind will carry them off, a breath will take them away.  But whoever takes refuge in me shall possesses the land and inherits my holy mountain.  It shall be said, 'Build up, build up, prepare the way, remove every obstacle from my people's way.'  For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy.  I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with those who are contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite."

Jesus went up to heaven and he opened the gates for us.

Scripture Reading Philippians 4:4-7 - "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, Rejoice.  Let your gentle spirit be known to all men.  The Lord is near.  Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Scripture Reading John 16:25-28 - "I have said this to you in figures; the hour is coming when I shall no longer speak to you in figures; but tell you plainly of the Father.  When that day comes you will ask in my name; and I do not say to you that I shall ask the Father for you, for the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from the Father.  I came from the Father and have come into the world, again I am leaving the world and going to the Father."

Word of Knowledge - There's a great anointing happening.  My hands are totally on fire and my house is cool.  My hands are extremely on fire and the Lord said that there's an anointing coming down upon us.  There's a great healing that is coming.

Words of Knowledge - Somebody needs to lose weight - The Lord is giving you the gift to do so.  A relative you've been praying for a long time will return to church soon.  A healing of sciatic pain on the right side; it could also be the left side.  A healing of cancer of the bone and cancer of pancreas.  A healing of a duodenal ulcer, sore feet and sore hands and a person's headaches.

Scripture Reading Psalm 17:5-6 - "I have always walked in your way and have never strayed from it.  I pray to you, O God, because you answer me; so turn to me and listen to my words."

S claimed the healing of sore hands.

Confirmation of the very first prophecy and reading given on forgiveness - The Lord said, "Tell my people, they must forgive.  They must forgive in order for me to do the work that needs to be done.  You must forgive."  He just kept saying that: "You must forgive."  "Stop blocking what I have for you.  You must forgive."

Pat B received the word of knowledge, the ability to lose weight.  She has lost some, but needs to lose more.

Word of Knowledge - While the last confirmation about forgiveness was given, the Lord said, "You need to forgive yourself."

Teaching

Pastor Dr. Erwin Lutzer spoke on "The Power of Praying Parents".  Is it always the parents' fault if a child rebels and becomes a prodigal?  The answer is sometimes yes, but many times the answer is no.  Sin is irrational.  College - Lose faith because of moral issues and environment, fall into immorality and then look for justification.  Matthew 15:21-28, The faith of a Canaanite woman - a mother pleading for her child.  She overcame barriers:  1) The barrier of her religion and culture.  2) The barrier of a divided home.  In a male dominated society, she goes to men to get help.  3) The barrier of the silence of Jesus.  Silence of Jesus is never a sign of indifference of God.  4)  The barrier of rejection of the disciples.  "Send her away, she's crying out after us."  5)  The barrier of the words of Jesus.  "I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."  She hears prejudice.  "Dogs" has two meanings in Greek.  The word that Jesus uses is for "household pets".  The woman says that she doesn't want anything that belongs to the children.  She's only asking for a little spillover (crumbs) of the Lord's blessings.  She is desperate.  And Jesus says, "O woman, what great faith you have.  Let it be done as you desire."  And the daughter was healed instantly.  Practical suggestions for praying for prodigal children:  1)  "Lord, change me."  The Lord wants to change parents' hearts as well as the child's.  Through harshness of discipline, through self-righteousness, through a judgmental spirit, through favoritism: these are things that can turn a child away from parents and God.  Parents need to turn to God and ask if there is anything for which they need to ask forgiveness that is part of the reason the child is rebelling.  Many times there is nothing.  If there is something, we need to put pride aside and humble ourselves.  2)  Pray, "Lord, he's yours."  Time to relinquish the child.  The child has heard it a thousand times from parents and has decided to go in the opposite direction.  3)   "Lord, change his or her heart."  We can't compel human hearts.  That's something only God can do.  4)  "Lord, let sin run its course."  You should never help somebody in the far country enjoy the far country.  The prodigal son came back because of the smell of pigs and he was hungry.  Wait for the child and welcome the child back because you love the child and intercede for the child.  Pastor Lutzer's Mom kept a list of 121 people for whom she prayed:  children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, plus.  After her death, a copy was made of the list and sent to all the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.  Mother would pray, "O Lord, give my children, (names), a hunger and thirst, but not after bread and water; may they thirst for you and may they thirst for righteousness.  May they flee from sin like one might flee from a serpent."  Story of St. Monica and St. Augustine.  St. Ambrose to St. Monica:  "It is not possible that a son of so many tears would perish.  Your son will be saved."  Praying parents have tremendous power.
