Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream August 26, 2026

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

At the beginning of the meeting, Scripture Reading Isaiah 49:15-16 - Can a mother forget her infant, be without tenderness for the child of her womb?  Even should she forget, I will never forget you.  See, upon the palms of my hands I have written your name.

Scripture Reading Psalm 139:1-4, 17-18, 23-24 - O Lord, you have searched me and known me.  You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.  You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways.  Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it all.  How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God!  How vast is the sum of them!  If I could count them, they would outnumber the sand.  When I awake, I am still with you.  Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there be any hurtful way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.

Scripture Reading Psalm 31:2-3 - Be my protector, O God, a mighty stronghold to save me.  For you are my rock, my stronghold.  Lead me, guide me for the sake of your name.

Scripture Reading Job 11:13-18 - If you direct your heart rightly, you will stretch out your hands toward him.  If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away, and do not let wickedness reside in your tents.  Surely then you will lift up your face without blemish; you will be secure, and will not fear.  You will forget your misery; you will remember it as waters that have passed away.  And your life will be brighter than the noonday; its darkness will be like morning.  And you will have confidence, because there is hope; you will be protected and take your rest in safety.

Scripture Reading Psalm 103:17-18 - But for those who honor the Lord, his love lasts forever, and his goodness endures for all generations of those who are true to his covenant and who faithfully obey his commands.

Vision - When we were singing, I had this vision of like incense going up in a thin long, long, long column, right up.  It was high.  And I thought it's not a huge column.  It's a thin column reaching up and in it's own way, pretty impressive because I was kind of thinking about it.  I was thinking we might be a small group but it will be heartfelt and it will be going up to the Lord.

Teaching

Ron spoke on his insights on the potter shaping clay on a pottery wheel, a video he saw a couple of weeks earlier at our meeting.

The first part of his sharing was how God's hands were shaping the church and himself in the mid 60's, mainly in respect to the Folk Masses they did at St. Paul's College.  One of the early songs was Kum ba Yah which means Come by Here.  As time went on, God's hands were changing the way they interpreted the song.  It was not only the music changing, but their understanding of what Liturgy means.  In 1972, the Church set up the Sacred Music Commission; what music was appropriate. what was not appropriate.  Then in 1967 at Duquesne, God's hand moved and the Catholic Charismatic Renewal began.  

The second part of Ron's sharing was on his reflections he had on the video of the potter and the clay.  When the potter was shaping the clay, he used just one finger and he'd slide it slowly up and down and it would gradually change the shape of the vessel.  Ron thought yes, that's how God handles us:  slowly, gradually, gently.

 Another thing that came to mind.  At one point the potter had his hand inside the vessel, shaping it from the interior.  From the outside, nothing happening.  You couldn't see any difference.  But he was doing something because the inside was being shaped.  Sometimes, Ron would think he didn't see any changes in himself, but God was working inside.  It might not be visible.  Also, Ron said he should not be a judge of other people.  We don't know what's happening on the inside.  So we should not be hard on ourselves or judge other people. 

At one point the wheel started speeding up and at that point God had both of his hands on the clay so that it wouldn't scatter all over the place and it would keep the shape that he intended the shape to have.  

Then Ron wondered what his role was in all that.  Be pliable and he will shape you his way.  Maybe one way is to step back away from the busyness of the world and do quiet reflections.  Go to Adoration, do Ignatian contemplation, or just quiet time to reflect.  

So in his mind, Ron saw himself doing this, taking a few steps back, relax.  Then he saw someone next to him.  Then there was conversation.  Ron sat back and said, "Jesus, is that you?"  Jesus: "Yeh."  Ron:  "You've been there all the time?"  Jesus: "Yeh.  And my arm on your shoulder all the time?"  Ron:  "But how come I didn't see you?"  Jesus:  "Because I was standing a little bit behind you, but not far.  Ron:  "How come sometimes I don't feel you're there at all?"  Jesus:  "That shirt you're wearing, you feel it on your shoulder?"  Ron:  "No."  Jesus:  "When you put it on this morning, you've been wearing it all day, did you feel the shirt on your shoulder?  It's been there."  Ron:  "No, I guess I got used to it."  Jesus:  "Exactly.  When you don't feel my hand on your shoulder or don't feel that I am close, it's not because I stepped away, it's because you've gotten so used to my being there that you know inside yourself I'm there.  And sometimes you don't pay attention to that because it's so familiar with you.  And that's fine.  I don't step back.  I don't take my hands off your shoulder.  In fact, it's more than that.  It's not just having my hand on your shoulder.  My arm is around both your shoulders and it's been there since the beginning.  It's been there since before you had shoulders.  Ron thought O.K. that's true, that's true.

Ron left us with one Scripture passage, Matthew 28:20 - And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
