Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream April 17, 2024

Apr 18, 2024

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

At beginning of meeting, Scripture Reading Deuteronomy 6:4 -13  - "Listen Israel:  Yahweh our God is the one, the only Yahweh.  You must love Yahweh, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength.  Let the words I enjoin on you today stay in your heart.  You shall tell them to your children and keep on telling them when you're sitting at home, when you are out and about, when you're lying down and when you're standing up.  You must fasten them on your hand as a sign and on your forehead as a headband; you must write them on the doorpost of your home and on your gates.  When Yahweh has brought you into the country which he swore to your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that he would give you, with great and prosperous cities you have not built, with houses full of good things you have not provided, with wells you have not dug, with vineyards and olive trees you have not planted,  and then when you have eaten as much as you want, be careful not to forget Yahweh who has brought you out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.  Yahweh, your God, is the one you must fear, him alone you must serve, his is the name by which you must swear."

A very powerful song, lyrics:  "I just want to speak the name of Jesus."

Scripture Reading John 14:6 - "Jesus said to Thomas, 'I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father  except through me.'"

Scripture Reading James 1:5-8 - "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask God who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him.  But let him ask in faith with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of sea that is driven and tossed by the wind; for that person must not suppose that a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways, will receive anything from the Lord."

I was moved by that last song as well:  the power of the name, Jesus, and thinking about the reading we started with, talking about Yahweh and how Yahweh has done everything.  God, our Father, has done everything and then he went even further, sending his Son for our sins, and the power of Jesus, shouting it in the streets.

That's what stood out to me:  "My name has power."

All of these songs tonight seem to be about praising the Lord for his goodness.  I've been having a lot of chest pains and difficulty in breathing.   I went in and had a stress test.  My heart is fine apparently, but they found two amazing things I didn't know.  The top of my heart and the bottom of my heart are beating two different beats.  And then they discovered, it shows a previous heart attack which I don't know anything about.  So, I kind of gathered from that is the Lord has been holding me.  I just want to give thanksgiving.  God works behind the scenes and we don't even know it.  Our God is so good!

I shared this before with this song, Jesus.  Very powerful experience I had listening to it.  When it was over, there was Jesus on the cross and a great bursting forth from the cross of light, and a very powerful word saying, "Every stronghold has been broken."

Yes, I felt the same.  There's power in the name of Jesus.  And I have a reading from Jeremiah 29:11-13 - "For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, plans for your welfare and not for woe so as to give you a future of hope.  When you call me and come and pray to me, I will listen to you.  When you look for me, you will find me.  Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me."

I just want to confirm about the strongholds.  I have been praying for that today.

Teaching

Lori Ann spoke on Who is the "I Am".  In three of the Gospels, Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"  After they answered, he asked them, "But who do you say that I am?"  On our March 7 prayer meeting, there was a prophecy that said, "Do you believe that I am the I AM?"  After 2000 years of martyrs dying and spreading the gospel to all the regions of the world, is God still asking this question?

Who is the I AM?  Exodus 3:14 - God said to Moses, "I am who I am."  Revelation 1:8 - "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, sayeth the Lord, which is and which was, which is to come, the Almighty."  Lori Ann said that her cheeseburger size brain can't fathom someone who always was, always is, always will be and always remains the same, someone who created the universe out of nothing and created us.

Why did he create us?  We are told, "Out of love."  He knew that we would fall and we would need to be rescued.  What love!  We are told that he loves everybody.  Lori Ann said that she doesn't understand that.  Can we love everybody:  the murderers, the abusers, etc.?  The I AM can.  We, at the prayer meeting, at church believe in the I AM, but most of society does not.  They don't know him.  Stephen Hawking, a British physicist, an atheist influenced many people.  When you take humankind away from God, you have what St. John Paul II called a "culture of death".

In Genesis, when the great I AM created the fish, he spoke to the water, "Let the water bring forth swarms of living things.  However, when he created man, he spoke to himself, "Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness."

2000 years ago, the Pharisees felt threatened by Jesus because he was reprimanding them.  They felt it was better for one man to die than to shake up their whole system.  Jesus was sold for 30 pieces of silver and the mob wanted him to be crucified.  It was a Passover custom to release prisoners.  Jesus Barabbas was a revolutionary who directly challenged Roman rule and he was scheduled to be crucified.  The people, the mob, chose to release Barabbas.  We are part of this mob.  Whenever we sin, we crucify Jesus.  But rather than a curse, we see his blood as a blessing.  By his death, Jesus set all of us free.  At Pentecost, the Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to spread the good news.  One man died and the kingdom of heaven grew.

During World War II, a regiment of Scottish soldiers was taken prisoner by the Japanese.  They were fed very little and treated very poorly.  Every man was totally miserable and looked out for himself.  Every night, they had line up for a roll call.  All their tools had to be returned and counted.  One night, all the shovels were counted and there was one shovel short.  They were told that whoever took the shovel had to return it or they would all be killed.  Deadly silence.  Finally one man came forward and said he took it.  Immediately, he was beaten to death.  When they put the shovels away, the guards counted again and found that they had been wrong.  There were no shovels missing.  But the lesson was not lost on that regiment.  The whole atmosphere changed.  They started to help one another.  Some even snuck out into the jungle at night to find food and medicinal plants for those who were sick.

Each of us is asked to die to ourselves for the kingdom to grow.  It is up to all of us to transform society by our witness.  Lori Ann said that she knows who she is.  She is a child of the Father and she was set free.  He paid her price with his blood.

Praise Report

Margaret thanked God and everyone who prayed.  Baby Roman's surgery went well.

Joan fell this afternoon, hurt her wrist.  She wasn't sure if it was broken.  She went to the hospital and in one hour, she had the result of the x-ray.  It was not broken.  The doctor wrapped it up and sent her home, in one hour.  Joan couldn't believe it.  And everybody was so nice.  She just wanted to praise and thank the Lord for such a blessing; for first of all, her wrist is not broken and secondly it happened so quickly in the hospital.
