The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting. 1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said." 1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.
Scripture Reading Isaiah 30:15 - "The Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says to the people, "Come back and quietly trust in me. Then you will be strong and secure."
Scripture Reading Daniel 3:57-64 - "Bless the Lord, all you works of the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever. Angels of the Lord, bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. You heavens, bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. All you waters above the heavens, bless the Lord, praise and exalt him above all forever. All you hosts of the Lord, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever. Sun and moon, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever. Stars of heaven, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever. Every shower and dew, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever."
Scripture Reading Matthew 11:28-30 - "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light."
Confirmation/Prophecy - I have confirmation of the reading from Daniel, except that it was, "Continue blessing, continue praising the Lord, continue praising him. From the time you wake up, my children, from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed, continue praising. As you praise me, my children, you will see manifestations that you have never seen before; manifestations of my love, manifestations of my peace that is coming. But my people, we have to go through the fire first, and after the fire will come the peace. But my people, I need you to continue praising, continue praising me."
Scripture Reading Psalm 25:4-6 - "Make me know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day. Remember, O Lord, your compassion and your loving kindnesses, for they have been from of old."
Confirmation - I would like to confirm the prophetic word of praising the Lord. This morning when things were not going well, obstacles in the way, just all of a sudden it came to me, "Praise the Lord anyway." And I did and actually I felt a whole lot better. I really believe that we need to praise the Lord all the time.
Scripture Reading Jeremiah 7:3-7 (The Temple Sermon) - "Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Reform your ways and your deeds, so that I may remain with you in this place. Put not your trust in the deceitful words: "This is the temple of the Lord! The temple of the Lord! The temple of the Lord!" Only if you thoroughly reform your ways and your deeds; if each of you deals justly with his neighbor; if you no longer oppress the resident alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you no longer shed innocent blood in this place, or follow strange gods to your own harm, will I remain with you in this place, in the land which I gave your fathers long ago and forever."
Vision/Prophetic Word - I saw Jesus opening the heavenly gates and he said, "I am the God of gods."
Scripture Reading 1 Thess 5:16-18 - "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
Montse Alvarado shared her faith story. We can use our talents for good or evil. We make the choice. She worked for the Becket Fund, helped with the law suit against the Sisters of the Poor. She learned that the devil is real and he is in all the details and wants to use our insecurities, frailties. Anything that we have that we are not handing over to our Lord, he will use. She saw all kinds of spiritual attacks when working on cases with a team. Evil wants us to see manipulation and darkness where there isn't any.
When they would pray, on the teams there were people from different spiritual backgrounds. She learned to say, "This is how I pray in my church and I hope that this does not make you uncomfortable. You can pray how you pray and you go next. We'll just do this and show each other without watering down what we believe or how we practice."
To the question, "How do you live without fear?," Montse said that if your eyes on the Lord, you don't have time to be overwhelmed and anxious about things that you can't control, and things that the Lord has already solved in the long run for us. We have to endure now.
The Lord gives us assignments and we have to be faithful to the assignments that we're in, having the right kind of detachments. He wants us to be able to work from rest, to battle from rest. The Lord wants to give us grace and strength to walk in all situations; so we may have peace and joy in the Lord; to be joyful warriors. The devil will use our exhaustion against us. We cannot swim in waters when we are tired. We need to rest up and beg our Lord to fix things for us.
Nothing is going to be perfect. The Lord lives with us in our wounds. When we share this, we are relatable. People see how the Lord gives us an authentic joy even though things are not perfect.
Montse is involved with the upcoming Eucharistic Congress in the U.S. which is sponsored by EWTN. The goal is to have an encounter with Christ, to return to this as a church and to be a witness.
Ron was watching a football game between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal. Near the end of the game, the Bombers attempted a field goal which didn't work because of kicking into the wind. In a minute that was left in the game, the wind changed directions. When Montreal kicked the ball it only went 20 yards and that gave Winnipeg a chance to be closer to the goal for their one play. With the wind at his back, the kicker got the field goal. The field goal won the game for the Bombers by one point. A journalist on the sidelines asked the kicker how he felt about the field goal. He said that when the first field goal didn't work, he thought it was game over. And then he said, "It reminds me of my favorite bible verse. It says, 'Don't be weary. You plant the seeds, you till the soil, the harvest is given by God. Don't give up.'" Ron was so impressed to hear a bible verse from an athlete.
Ron watched many replays later on, that part of the bible verse was not on. They edited it out. They want to be first on the scene of an accident or whatever, that's the chance for evangelization.
Leslie thanked us for our prayers for her sister, Beryl. She shared that Beryl has been discharged from the hospital and is at home with the help of homecare. Thank you, Lord!
