Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream January 29, 2025

Jan 30, 2025

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

Scripture Reading Isaiah 10:1-4 - "Ah, you who make iniquitous decrees, who write oppressive statutes, to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be your spoil, and that you may make the orphans your prey!  What will you do on the day of punishment, in the calamity that will come from far away?  To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth, so as not to crouch among the prisoners or fall among the slain?  For all this his anger has not turned away; his hand is stretched out still."

Scripture Reading Ephesians 2:19-22 - "You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.  Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit."

Scripture Reading Isaiah 6:6-7 - "Then one of the seraphim flew to me, holding an ember which he had taken with tongs from the altar.  He touched my mouth with it.  "See," he said, "now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removed, your sin purged.""

Scripture Reading Psalm 86:6-10 - "Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and give heed to the voice of my supplications!  In the day of my trouble I shall call upon you, for you will answer me.  There is no one like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours.  All nations whom you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and they shall glorify your name.  For you are great and do wondrous deeds; you alone are God."

Prophecy/Vision - "Why so downtrodden, my people?  Why so downtrodden?  I give you joy.  I give you peace.  My people, I choose to heal you.  I choose to life your spirit.  I choose to give you my peace.  Receive it, receive my gifts, my people."  In the image, I see the Spirit of God breathing on every one of us.  He's just breathing and I feel that it's the breath of joy that he's breathing on us.

Teaching

Fr. Michael entitled his homily, "Satan Wants to Steal Our Joy."  St. Paul to the Phillippians:  "Rejoice, rejoice in the Lord always.  I say it again: rejoice.  Your kindness should to be known to all.  The Lord is near.  Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.  And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

One of your requests can be joy.  It's not a selfish thing to pray for joy.  Joy is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.  Joy is one of the things God wants us to have our lives.  We are to be a joyful people.  Joy:  it's a lasting foundation.  It's a contentment and confidence and hope that comes from an authentic, honest, sacrificial relationship with Jesus Christ.

Every Sunday is a little thanksgiving.  Every Sunday is a little Easter.  We remember our Lord's victory and we hope in eternal life.

St. Thomas:  "Man cannot live without joy.  Therefore, when he is deprived of spiritual joy it is necessary that he becomes addicted to carnal pleasure."

We are a people who thrive on joy.  The devil works to destroy our joy by fear. The devil works to create in us fear, our ego and our flesh being all that there is.  The works of the flesh are obvious:  immorality, impurity, licentiousness, a lack of self control, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, acts of selfishness.  These things work against our joy.

The fruit of the Spirit is joy and love and peace and patience and kindness and gentleness.  When John the Baptist was baptizing, he said, "I am baptizing you with water but mightier than I is coming.  I am not worthy to loosen the thongs of his sandals.  He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."

Pray for joy daily.

Praise Reports

For the past few days, Patt was wondering what the difference was between grace and blessing.  On Monday morning, when she was doing the morning prayers the Lord gave her a thought that answered her question:  That's twice, death came for me and I was not at home.  Patt then thought, that's grace, undeserved merit.  Then Patt thought that the fact that God gave her that distinct statement, that's blessing, that's gift.

Georgina had a praise report regarding her sister.  The family found somebody who comes to her once a week on Sunday and brings her Communion, watches the Mass on TV with her.  Georgina is very grateful for that.

Richard thanked the Lord and everyone for praying for him.  He thought he might have shingles, having some spots on his body, and thank the Lord, they went away.

Leslie B. shared that David had his operation.  The tumor was removed and it is not cancerous.  Thank you, Lord.
