Prophetic Words & Scripture Readings at Live Stream December 27, 2023

Dec 28, 2023

The following are words given by participants at the streamed meeting.  1 Corinthians 14:29 says that "Two or three prophets should speak, and the others weigh carefully what is said."  1 Thess 5:19-21 tells us not to despise prophecies, but to test everything and retain what is good.

At beginning of meeting, Scripture Reading Psalm 97 - "The Lord is king; let the earth rejoice; let the many isles be glad.  Clouds and darkness are around him, justice and judgment are the foundation of his throne.  The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth.  The heavens proclaim his justice, and all peoples see his glory.  Light dawns for the just; and gladness, for the upright of heart.  Be glad in the Lord, you just, and give thanks to his holy name."

Scripture Reading Phil 2:5-11 - "In your minds you must be the same as Christ Jesus:  His state was divine, yet he did not cling to his equality with God but emptied himself to assume the condition of a slave, and became as men are; and being as all men are, he was humbler yet, even to accepting death, death on a cross.  But God raised him high and gave him the name which is above all other names so that all beings in the heavens, on earth and in the underworld, should bend the knee at the name of Jesus and that every tongue should acclaim Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Scripture Reading Psalm 34:1-3 - "I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul will make its boast in the Lord; the humble will hear it and rejoice.  O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together."

Prophecy - "I felt the Lord saying that he wants us in our quiet time, to meditate on the birth of Jesus, to meditate at what it meant for the Virgin Mother to be carrying this baby within her womb and how scared she must have been.  To meditate and ask Jesus what he wants us to learn from all of that."

Teaching

Fr. David Wilton, CPM spoke on "Don't allow the devil take your happiness."  During the season of Advent, the devil wants us to lose the sense of the sacred.  He wants us to be absolutely miserable; our hearts to be filled with anxiety, bitterness, confusion, doubt, discouragement, despair.  But God has a great plan.  John the Baptist was filled with joy. He leapt in the womb when Mary came to see Elizabeth.  Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.  The devil wants us to believe that with everything going on around us, with all our difficulties, we can't live in joy.  St. Thomas Aquinas:  Joy is the first effect of love and self-giving.  There are as many kinds of joy as there are kinds of love.  There is no comparison to the joy of loving God.  The Lord told us that there will be crosses for us to carry, but he didn't say pout while we carry those crosses.  We should be the most joyful people in the world and that's what's going to win people over.  Union with Christ must be our highest priority.  St. Paul was no stranger to hardships and he tells us in Phil 4:  "Rejoice always; I say it again, rejoice!"  In Daniel 7, we are told that a great beast would arise over the world to beat it down, to oppress the holy ones of the Most High.  There's a spirit that's just beating us down, trying to crush our will power, deny Christ.  Just as Jesus was handed over for a time to be crushed, what followed?  Resurrection.  So, too, the church will be handed over for a time.  We know this from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  The church will go through a Passion, just like our Lord Jesus.  The church's passion is like a purification; to bring to death all that is worldly and then be resurrected in the divine will, when we get to the point where everybody will join their wills to the divine will.  Do we just pray the Our Father or do we live it?  It was authored by God himself.  Our Father, not my Father:  Be concerned about salvation of others, including our enemies.  Thy will be done:  Is this your plan?  Daily bread:  John 6 - "Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you, for my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink."  Forgiveness:  Do I hold a grudge?  He wants your sins because he doesn't want anything to get in between him and you.  Lead us not into temptation:  Ask God for all the graces we need.  We are in a spiritual battle.  God's way is much better.  In his will is peace.  Let God fight your battles.  He hasn't lost one yet.

Praise Reports

Georgina - A year ago we prayed for Manushka who was going for a heart transplant.  Her husband says that it has been a miraculous healing.  Thank you, Jesus!

Maria K:  While driving back from Brandon, her engine light came on and it started sounding very rough.  She made it to Winnipeg.  Her daughter checked her oil and it was completely dry.  Maria prayed over her car and asked the Lord it would be healed and that it would not cost her too much money.  Her mechanic fixed it for only $120.00.  It was a tiny piece that had let the oil drip out.  She was praising the Lord all day!  She said even in small things like that, God is so good.
